I wrote my contact this morning to be placed on a list. I *need* one of these!

Not sure why they didn't bring the last gen rs4. But rumors the next gen one might show, with a spy shot of what looked like a S4 avant prototype in LA. Who knows, but hopefully we get some affordable performance wagons so actual interest can be gauged. When the only options are slow/boring or insanely expensive for a family car, ofc sales will be bad.

I got my M5 CS at MSRP last August. Wasn't a problem at all.

I know you are very knowledgeable about this—but this has happened time and time again over many years to get past federalization costs.

If this pans out it will be quite exciting. If it is going to be $150k starting price like some of you think then that is way too rich for me. But I'd love to have one....

I am hoping since it is a new chassis it will not be like $110k petrol M5 then add on $15k for the motor and batteries. Hopefully it is all built into the design and therefore could be similar to current pricing....

I guess maybe it will just be a limited run of M wagons. Seems kind of dumb. But whatever.

Interesting. Doesn't seem to make sense but what does any more.
So $150k will get wealthy buyers a nearly 17 ft, 5000 lb barge to take to car shows for a couple weeks. M3 wagon is what we need. Not this. |

The G61 is the non-M 5 series. Not sure when they started doing separate designations for M cars vs non M cars.

Had to check date to make sure it wasn't Aprils Fools day.
This is my white whale, and after passing on a chance to get the E61, I will be ordering one of these. |

I wonder if there's a way to start a google doc spreadsheet with rows of types of vehicles (M lite, true M, Alpina, etc…) where people could put in their local dealer and have a column for the MSRP markup and date they gathered the info…

Again: G61 is not coming. Your logic (which I would otherwise share) loses against my facts.

As the owner of multiple E63 wagons - I can tell you that no other car I’ve ever owned elicits such giddy responses from people who know what it is. It’s a hoot. I’m anxious to see the M5 in wagon form.

I'd also expect this will be one the few V8 wagons remaining. No clue if Porsche will drop theirs. So I'd imagine that might steal sales from some of the other brands.

I did the same thing! He laughed but did it for me! I also have an M5 CS (MSRP) like you and a Daytona Violet e34 M5 touring. This will be much anticipated for me! |
