Nice find! I ran aftermarket LED bulbs in OE-style projector fog light housings. With the focussed beam and cutoff, it worked great without causing issues for oncoming cars.

This seems like the only thread on these.
Does anyone have them installed? Any review/pics?

They are great, the LEDs are nearly as bright as the LCI Xenon Headlights.

Hey there BMW335ie90. I recently hit a deer with my car, but good news is they gave me a new hood an front bumper and left headlight! I need to replace the fog lights now as one of the lens looks nice and the other is pitted. I live in Marin county and the road I go down doesn't have street lights so was thinking about the Morimotos.

A few questions...did you get the resistor and splitter? I assume the resistor is to assist with throwing codes? Not sure what the splitter is about. Can you share your setup? Thanks in advance! Scott

I like this idea. How's the beam pattern and cutoff?

I responded to PM but figured I'd copy this over here incase it would help anyone else. The Morimoto fog lights come with the same plug that the OEM fog lights have so they are plug and play. I coded my lighting module to accept LEDs so they would not throw any codes or flicker.

If you do not know how to code this option you will likely need the y splitter and resistor to prevent errors.

The beam pattern is pretty good but do not have a super far throw distance. Cutoff is crisp with a lot of blue/purple, they sharper than my OEM LCI Headlight frensel lenses no doubt. Since the fog lights are very close to the ground it can be difficult to aim them for maximum distance while also not dazzling other drivers.

Funny timing on this thread being resurrected. Got a marketing email from TRS and got to thinking about these again... had looked at them before but couldn’t find much feedback from folks who’d actually installed them.

Seeing them makes me wonder whether they’d fit a pre-LCI car though? I realize they’re round whereas my fog light housings are oblique, but I thought they’d just fit in behind the existing acrylic lens. Now that I think about it further, I think my fog lights are one piece, with the only removable part being the bulb.

Edit: I see the round profile is an M Sport bumper thing, and that the non M-Sport LCI cars still have fog lights like mine. (The triangle-y looking ones.)

Curious to hear what you guys think.

Edit 2: Went back and looked at part interchange numbers. Definitely an M-sport only thing with no hope of fitting on my car, which kinda makes sense. Unfortunate, but good for my wallet.

Hmmm. I purchased these. ECS widget says they fit my car, but they have H11 connector and my fog lights have HB4 connector - so they don't work. Bummer

Interesting. Can you get some kind of an adapter?
Did you buy them from ECS?

Sounds like Morimoto messed up and put the wrong connector on. If you bought these from theretrofitsource instead of ECS, they would have taken care of you and gotten you a replacement with the correct connector. ECS is generally terrible about fixing issues they just have you return the parts. No doubt that the HID kit will be brighter than the Motimotos, you will essentially be turning your fog lights into flood lights.

Well, the crazy thing is that I called Morimoto and they didn't try to help or send the correct connector - they said I needed a refund. I called ECS and they tried to "fix" it by selling me an H11 to HB4 adaptor.

And, the photo of the product site shows the H11 connectors - as if that's the norm for E60 and E90 cars. So is my car an oddball for having HB4 fog light connector?

I dug out my m-sport fog lights and they have HB4 bulbs. Sounds like Morimoto might have their head up their ass on fitment, why they would ship them with HB4 then switch to a different connector I have no idea.
