Look at this beast. Made in Germany
This system allows us to blast the area and vacuum the media out at the same time.

I am glad to see there are places around where this service is gonna be readily available, and I will be considering this for my recently purchased 535i when I get to 30k miles (car has 24k now).

Is it customary on this forum to post in a vendor's thread with prices from cheaper local shops? When ACM posts up a thread on their exhaust mod do people post up other shops rates who do the same job cheaper?
If you posted another thread cool I guess (though, I'm not sure how that dealer's service team supports the Post community - they do have a good sales guy though ...but this is my sale thread man ps. we can offer before/after observation Last edited by Brian_VACsales; 04-24-2012 at 01:41 PM.. |

My apologies, Mike...I wasn't trying to say anything negative against VAC at all. Again, I am appreciative that there are MULTIPLE places who are willing to offer this (much needed) service, especially for those like me who don't have the time or experience to do the cleaning myself. I saw where others had posted quotes for other dealers, and the point of me posting was that it seems to be greatly varied dealership to dealership.
That being said, I agree that I would rather go outside of the dealership for a service like this since I don't trust the dealerships will go above and beyond to really clean the valves/runners as best possible. Clearly VAC is going above and beyond, and it's why I will consider using you all soon when I need my 535i cleaned! Dealerships are fine for warranty work, but this type of work is usually best left to those outside the dealership that will take all measures to make sure the intake is pristine when the service is done! I am lucky that you are are probably within 30-40 minutes from me, and I will be coming in for this service in the near future Kev |

75k mile 335i. Car came in for rough idle and crappy acceleration. Look what we found.

Does the same go for M5s? I have 50K on my M5. I notice when it sits for a week or so and I first start it up, it runs like shit for a few seconds.
I only have 17K on the 07 335i so I think I'm good there, but you've got me thinking about the M5 now. Also am I correct in assuming you change the oil after such a treatment? I'd hope so but I have to ask |

E39 and E60 M5s are not DI so they do not have this exact issue. The E39 M5 has a serious issue with secondary air system carbon build up. That is a BEAST of a job.
Oil change is an option. Since we close the valves completely essentially no media gets 'in the engine' Whatever trace that may make it in is immediately burned off.

3 more jobs done this week. We had a 90k mile car that looked AWFUL!
Force: we did plugs and the carbon cleaning - car runs like a champ now.

Interesting one today. 80k mile car with meth injection. Looks like the meth does help...but not enough obviously.
