exhaust manifold difference, 330 vs 328??

How different can they really be if both blocks are N52? Has anyone with a 330 used an exhaust manifold with cats from a 328 or vice versa?

http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/18407545308

This shows that the 330i exhaust is the same as the 325i, which means it was only in production for 1 model year...

Thanks!

The later part number supersedes the earlier one. Same part; bmw just updated the part number

Edit: Interesting aside, the latest revision # includes the F25 X3 w/ the N52 engine

Ohhh got it thanks. Usually, when I use realoem for my E30 it'll say "ENDED" and include a replacement part number, if available.

If you are looking for a factory exhaust manifold upgrade, some euro countries have different ones.

Depending on emission laws there there are some(instead of the log style manifold) that have shorty heaters with the same cats, and some with shorty headers and smaller cats

I've swapped the exhaust manifolds on my N52B25 with exhaust manifold from N52B30 330i euro spec (my car is 325i euro spec aswell), everything including O2 sensors is direct swap, fits like factory. No tunes whatsoever, I have no issues, no check engine lights, no rough idle etc. Checking fuel trims/vanos etc. on INPA everything is perfect. The car feels more powerful, and definitely makes more power, as I've compared the before and after accelerations. No dyno runs, however to prove it. I did a DME software update a few months ago, however that should not be related to the exhaust manifold swap in any way. Attaching images of the old and new manifold. Also, forgot to mention, the cats in both exhaust manifolds are in good condition.

Thanks. I'm installing a cylinder head from a 330i onto my 325i n52b25 so i will be installing a set of these or headers as well.

I will admit... the 330 manifolds are a lot sexier.

I can confirm, as when I was looking to buy those from the second pic it took me probably 1 year to find them with extensive search. Even in Europe not all 330i cars are with them, for example UK cars are with the ones from the first pic and as far as I know all 325i and 323i cars regardless of the region are with the one from the first pic, so they are not something you see regularly.

Interesting. Realoem lists my n52b25 car as having the same manifolds as a 330i but they are the same as the top ones in the photo.

Yea it seems like that is the case. US versions have a different type again. The ones on my car are listed as fitted euro 323i, 325i and 330i. Do you know the part number of your new ones? It's stamped on them.

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm what the exact part number is, as they have been on the car for quite some time now, but I think it's those:

18407568613 for 1-3 cyl
18407568614 for 4-6 cyl

Again, I cannot confirm, I know for a fact that on the catalyst 7530587 was the number.
