Where can turbo boost leak on e90 320D?
I know the seals around the manifold could be letting some boost lose. But is there anywhere else? Like EGR blanking at the exhaust. Could the boost leak there?

Do these have anything to do with turbo boost pressure?

It's usually the hoses, they can split which generally leaves an oily residue on the outside of the hoses where the split is. The connections at the intercooler can start to leak boost also. Sometimes the intercoolers themselves can leak boost if they crack etc.

This is my first turbo car and I'm clueless. Trying to search for info on the turbo actuator and pressure converter but almost no helpful info.
How do I approach this? I will be replacing the thermostat tomorrow morning and I think it's all around that area and I should have better access to see things? But what do I look for? How do I check if the actuator is sticky? Where is the pressure converter? Is it a dedicated pressure converter for the turbo or is it some general converter somewhere? How do I check for vacuum line problems? If anyone can pitch in to help regarding any of this it will be much appreciated. TIA |

If you can pressurise the system that would be best then you can hear air escaping.
The other thing to look at is your egr valve staying stuck open causing these symptoms. |
