Lowering coils or msport suspension

Hello, newish here. I’ve a 325i SE pre lci. I’ve invested a bit of money in it over the last year and have no intention of getting rid of it eventhougb it seem like a money pit sometimes. The thing I’d really like to change is to stiffen up the suspension. I mechanic friend has suggested keeping the same shocks but get 20mm lower springs. I am certainly not going to spend £1000 replacing them and wondered if you have any advice/guidance.

Thanks

I put Eibach Pro springs and Bilstein B4 shocks on my E91 320D M sport. I got a 10mm drop on the back and 15mm on front I think. Makes the car look more level. You would get 20mm drop in the back and 30mm in the front. I also renewed my strut mounts and bump stops because my car had done 120K on the originals. If you do drop your car you should replace your shock bump stops to M sport ones.

I had the same quandary. My E91 is an SE and I ended up fitting eibach pro with Bilstein B4 shocks. Don't be tempted to use the original shocks, the SE shocks are rubbish especially if you have heavy run flat tyres on the car. Shop around you can get the parts relatively cheaply. Don't forget the bump stops when you change to lower springs, get the M Sport bump stops as they are short enough for an eibach pro job if you decide to go that route.

My 330d, The oe shocks are rubbish. Change the dampers. May aswell change springs whilst you're at it. Best thing Ive done to mine. Koni fsd with eibach prokit 35k miles ago. Suspension has made it ride nicer and super stable chassis means can now use the remapped performance
