335 FMIC installation hardware

Hi Fellas,

I'm looking to find out what size studs are for installing the 5" stepped intercooler.

Here is an example. It seem only Wrangler gives these with their kits, but not sold separately?

Does anyone know where I can buy this as a set, or maybe the ones with the rubber bushing?

Here is another example,

Thank you!

VRSF will probably sell them to you separately, might have to call/email them.

But the hardware store is so close, lol. thanks for the top, I'll see what I can get, obviously.

VSFR doesn't have a rubber bushing, the wrangler set does. hmm, i wonder if it's needed. Rubber should surely stop the bolt from loosening.

The screws are basically a Philip's screw that goes into the radiator. VRSF's earlier Intercooler designs (first 7in model) gave out screws with the kits instesd of bolts and they fit right up. I never had an issue with that design as long your holes on your radiator wernt messed up from an accident or previous intercooler install.

Just take the screws that come out with the stock intercooler to the hardware store and get slightly longer ones with some washers and use that for the install. Then you can order it online and when it comes install the new bolts, or keep it as-is if you want. The intercooler is held up by the radiator, front bumper (sits on it but doesnt directly hold it) and your intercooler piping.

^ This. You can just go to Lowe's/Ace and get whatever hardware you need. I bought specialty engine stand bolts at Ace.

I just got a VRSF kit and it did come with rubber bushings.

Anybody got the answer to this? lol I know I can go to the hardware store and match up the screws but they're bagged up at my parents house where I'm replacing my motor. I fucked the phillips head a little bit on the one screw so I'd like to replace them when I put it back together

They're called Hanger Bolts. I've yet to find metric ones at any local hardware store, so I ordered some from McMaster-Carr.

I snagged the M6 Wood Screw by M6x1 bolts (https://www.mcmaster.com/98828a200) and M6x1 flange nuts (https://www.mcmaster.com/93033a101) to go with them. The M6 wood screw thread looks to be an exact match to OEM. Cut them down to size with a dremel and they worked out great!

Here's the OEM bolt, the nut and bolt as received from McMaster, then the nut with cut down bolt.

I purchased some hanger bolts from Amazon. They have lots of different lengths so hopefully they are the correct length (M6x40). I will update how these work. As for the rubber, I do not see a need. If you did I would imagine the easiest thing would be to get a rubber grommet from the hardware store.

Negative. I don't think it's really necessary, but as was mentioned above, you can probably snag some at the hardware store (or McMaster).

Thank you!
Who are you buying the upgraded FMIC from?

Some use couplers or hoses to connect others use factory connections, when talking about a 5" FMIC

I'm actually importing my own with a proper fitting for silicone upgrade hoses and I need to offer hardware with it, so I'm needing to know what size bolts to also source and order.
