Torx Set

Wondering if someone can recommend a set to pickup that will contain the majority of the equipment required

I found this, not sure if it's enough, overkill or not enough

I have a similar neiko set of all externals. It has worked fine for me.

If you are working on bmws you really want a full set of both internal and external.

Do either of these sets include everything I would come across on a BMW? would rather not have to spend hundreds in the rare case where 95% of these would cover what's needed

I have the Neiko and its great, made in Taiwan, good quality and decent price. You don't want a cheap set that will break/round.

any of them should be fine for what you are going to do , although all these tools would be considered on the cheaper tool section if you compare them to brands like snap on , mac tools , matco which is what most professional mechanics are buying ... Then, again mechanics by profession used these tools on daily basics
