SOS Error - MOST failure or Mobridge DA2 fault?
I have a 2006 e90 330i with navi and l7 amp. I replaced the l7 amp with a Mobridge da2 analog preamp about 5 years ago. Recently, the speakers pop loudly every 30 seconds or so. When the speakers pop, the cell signal strength meter on the iDrive disappears. After the pop, there is silence and then the SOS light near the moonroof flashes once. After a few more seconds, sound returns. SAT option has been grayed out on the iDrive screen since the popping began, but all other sources work. When I bypass the DA2 with a direct cable from my phone to the Mosconi DSP, the popping disappears but I still see the cell meter disappear and SOS light flash. I brought it to my local BMW shop and they think it's the DA2 that's causing the issue. They were far from positive so I'm hoping its the SAT or BT module or anything that cheaper than replacing the DA2, especially if I swap it out and the popping persists. The car is garage kept but was parked outside in a heavy rainstorm just before the popping began. I didn't notice any moisture but I may not have been looking in the right place. Thanks in advance!

Look for moisture first. everywhere.
Maybe on your aftermarket amps got wet as well. You can bypass all the most modules if you have enough Most jumpers. I would try that first. Sat module and amp . Then maybe the TCU/Mulf. |

Thanks ctuna! I've been shopping for a jumper but they all say compatible with 7 series only.
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...yABEgKWMfD_BwE Will this one from ECS tuning work with the MOST system in my car? Thanks! |

Its just a optic loop you could probably take a straw an point them
at each other . This is not magic . You just need away to get the input to point to the output. I believe you can take the fiber lines out of the connector. I would get one a jumper of ebay. You could also rearrange the fiberoptics at the most Hub to bypass anything on the most loop . Last edited by ctuna; 07-24-2018 at 12:28 AM.. |

Thanks ctuna! I jumped the Mobridge da2 (which replaced the l7 amp) and the problem continued. I cut away the housing of the jumper and was able to get it to fit in order to jump the SAT module... and no more popping or SOS errors! The SAT module was the culprit. Thanks again for your help!
