2007 E91 335i Wagon (N54 6MT Swap)
Sold!!! 2007 E91 328i with N54 6MT Swap Chassis Mileage - 175019 Sport Package 335i Brakes CIC Swap with Mr12Volt Wireless Carplay / Android Auto 18" ESR SR12 Wheels (staggered) E91 335i M-sport rear bumper M3 replica front bumper LCI Hood Engine Spec: 2008 N54 with 87892 miles Turbos rebuilt at 75669 miles VRSF Downpipes VRSF Inlets,Charge Pipe, and Intercooler MHD Stage 2 v10 93oct OEM 335i exhaust from downpipes back Burger Tuning Oil Catch Oil pan, OFH, valve cover, intake, exhaust, turbo oil+coolant line gaskets replaced at 75669 miles OEM 335is Clutch New Eldor coils and plugs This has been by far my favorite and most rewarding car project to date. I'm sad to see it go but the itch for a new project is too great. The mileages at the swap were chassis 162796 / engine 75669. I had a rear ended 2008 335i sedan that was used for the swap. This e91 is in incredible shape for its mileage and the engine is perfect. The turbos showed some minor wastegate play when I had the engine out, so I went ahead and rebuilt them while I had everything out. The chassis holds a Georgia rebuilt title - the salvage repair is documented here: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/fo.../154226/page1/ (note - the 135i he buys in that thread was not the car I used for the swap). I purchased this car from a friend in Charlotte in mid 2019 after he repaired it and performed the swap in late 2019-early 2020. The front shocks, control arms, top hats are about a year old as are the rear shocks. The brake calipers from the 335i donor car were used with new discs and pads. There are minor blemishes here and there - the drivers seat leather is smooth but is not cracked or torn. The passenger rear wheel has some light curb rash. I am asking $19k - I am an open book - any questions you have about the swap, rebuild, or my ownership I am happy to answer. Car is located north of Atlanta. Rebuilt title is in my name. Interested to see how this does. Basically same car as mine but mine is white and a 2012 and FBO. Not a lot of these have been sold to set a baseline for price. Car looks great and very OEM.

Completely agree on the front end LCI hybrid. Looks really sharp! This would do quite well on cars & bids though I don't think you'll have any trouble fetching your asking price here either. Good luck to you and clean car!

The car came to me with some aftermarket LCI / F30 looking headlights (see the GRM thread), but I really wanted the OEM headlights back on it. In my opinion, the pre-LCI lights look the most "original" which was the whole theme with the car. Plus the OEM projector housings have much better light output than the aftermarket stuff. |

Cars and bids will take rebuilt from what I understand, but at no reserve. I am enjoying my wagon but like you, already thinking of other projects to build. Definitely try on the open market first. |

What condition is the safety equipment in? All airbags intact and presumed functional?
Any registration issues when it was in Charlotte?(you might not have the answer) Power estimates? |

No registration issues in NC - it had to be inspected in NC when my friend registered it and in GA when I registered it. No issues with either inspection. The airbags did not deploy in the accident, its all original (besides bags replaced in recall).
I would guess in the 370ish wheel HP range for power. I think MHD's estimates for stage 2 are a little high but it should be close to what they advertise. |

I ’ve always wanted an e91 n54 but from what Ive researched, I wouldn’t he able to register the car given mismatched VIN from OBD readout (335i) vs chassis (328i).

Apparently you must be well versed in CT DMV regulations.
Last I looked into this, the emissions center told me they don’t see how I’d pass VIN check and standard emissions. Instead I’d have to go through the process for composite vehicles where the car has to be transported to state emissions center via flatbed, and I need to bring either the title of all the donor vehicles or bring receipts for the major parts — basically a nightmare with no guarantee the vehicle would pass. But thanks for the helpful/insightful comment. |

It's clear to see the cluster is reporting 328i chassis miles without tamper dot, which means the CAS module is original to the car, i.e. reported VIN is correct for the chassis. The bigger issue actually is the lack of catted downpipes, but that's an easy correction if needed. Now, you're gonna buy the car you always wanted ? |

The vin shows as the 328i vin to any code scanner or emissions computer. You need INPA, MHD, or other BMW software to pull the original VIN from the DME or CAS.
I had the cluster programmed to match the 328 mileage. The cluster in the car was from the 335 donor car (this is why it has an oil temp gauge instead of MPG). A tamper dot was unacceptable to me. |
