I called the insurance company again yesterday. Good thing is the guy is also a "car guy" so he said he knows how I feel. He was actually pretty cool and said he understands that I want to get the car back to how it is. He told me that it's because the software they use just prepopulates it to whatever the VIN is. Told me to tell Classic to ensure they get me the right bumper and that it's no problem. He even said "I don't care what bumper you decide to put on it, as long as it's reasonable." I was pleasantly surprised and I'll let the girl at Classic know once she calls me. They were supposed to be doing the tear down yesterday/today to let me know whats up.
For the insurance guy, he just basically said, look - it's not like I have a blank check to just get you fixed up, but for whatever you had on there we will get you back to where you were. I don't care what bumper you end up putting on there, as long as there's a part number or whatever, we'll make it happen. After driving the altima for a week, I'm not sure I can jump down that many levels of car into a beater

This is true. Most collision shops order off of the VIN# and that pulls up all the parts the vehicle is "born" with. Im sure they do not get alot of vehicles that have a mix of other bmw parts on it. So in that aspect, it does make it a little more difficult for them to order the parts. But i dont think thats any excuse for being lazy and not varifying the parts ordered.

It's probably because this insurance company is small and they actually subcontract out their adjusters to another company.

Tint friendly state inspection?
Random question, didn't want to start a whole new thread. Does anyone know any tint-friendly state inspection places in the DFW area that will pass you with darker tint? It's hot as hell here so every bit helps!
I've heard of people paying someone off but that means you gotta find the guy at the shop who will do the actual inspection. If you could PM me any suggestions I'd really appreciate it, thanks! |

Not sure if I've introduced myself, if not, howdy to you all.
Does anyone know where I can purchase LED AE lights in the DFW area? One of mine went out and I do not want to ride around with my car 'winking'. LUX is on backorder and I need a quick fix.

Anyone know of a good body shop? I've got a dent in my front bumper from a rogue tire in the road and also some hail damage. I'd like the opportunity to change my bumper to and hood to an LCI or MTech if possible. PM me if you'd like. Thanks

New to the forum.
Hey I am new to this forum. I am a former 325i owner who after a 5 year cost cutting detour as a VW GTI owner I am just about ready to come home. Planning to order a fully loaded 335i silver, M-Sport, Premium, Convenience and Nav. Think I want to order before production ends on the E90 rather than roll the dice on the new F30.
