With Prime I save at least $200 a year on shipping, while the 5% discount using the Prime card pays for the membership fee and more. I'm not sweating the twenty bucks.

Shipping is not really free anymore, it mostly included in the price, many items I find elsewhere at the same cost or less when you consider shipping. Prime now really pays everything else they offer.

It’s never enough especially with a publicly traded company. Shareholders expect huge gains quarter over quarter. Hitting a plateau of 3% growth or something along the lines of GDP will enrage them and then people lose their jobs and also lose investors, resulting in capital loss.

This type of thinking can only sustain a company for so long and is one of the major fallacies of capitalism... expecting consistent continued growth under all instances is laughable at best... there will be a market crash and we will see growth again (albeit from a lower starting point)... good luck to the next ceo of apple to provide consistent results.

I don't have to worry about what Prime membership costs as long as they keep shipping my packages via On-Trac, which means missed delivery dates and lost packages, which translates to one month Prime membership extensions on a regular basis.

I heard a lot of hoopla about the price going up. I thought it was going to double. $20 is nothing. Considering I order something from amazon at least weekly, I think I'll make that money back.

Twenty dollars, what’s that, a lunch or two? Three or four coffees?

I agree. $20 isn't much. I'll not worry about this hike.

Pretty soon though, they'll be up a little more and a little more, then it'll be double. Just like Netflix.

But yeah. Still worth it.

Same here. I made about 120 purchases last year, and watch videos all the time.

It has been the same price for several years. A small hike every now and then is expected.

I need to calc if I received over $120 in free shipping in 2017, otherwise not worth keeping Prime. Certainly NOT for their streaming TV and media offerings on Prime Video.

That's exactly right. And more to the point, the cost of shipping is for getting the item faster than buying something with free standard shipping. If you can wait for your item and still have it shipped for free, are you actually getting anything for that $120?

And here's another thing about justifying the $120 for the faster shipping, there are times buying from a vendor that is on Amazon's market place but paying for shipping is actually cheaper than a product which is Prime eligible.

That is my thought as well. I will be figuring some stuff out tonight for sure... I am thinking it may not be worth it for me anymore. Even the $79 to $99 (2 years ago?) was making me think about cancelling.
