New engine...supposed to look like this ?

Hey guys pretty simple question, purchased a used engine with 100k miles, and I just started tearing into it. Now I don't know a ton about engine but is it supposed to look like this for 100k? This would imply bad maintenance correct?

That's what I was thinking, exhaust side looks good but I don't understand how the intake side is so dark.

Intake side isn’t as hot and with long OCI when the oil loses its detergents you get that result. Either way nothing alarming. Chances are all is good!
