A while back I saw this guy built like a house where he looked like he was doing body building shows. He then gets into a car parked in a handicap spot. WTF.

He is most likely handicapped in the brain. Unnoticeable to the naked eye.

Mental doesn't count

I used to wonder about that, who's handicapped going to the gym. Then this guy with one leg walked out, and I struck up a convo. Got to keep the upper body strong to get around with only 1 leg.

If you saw this guy, you would see there was nothing handicapped about him except as others have stated....in his head. The dude was in contest form/shape. Just makes me sick thinking about how someone like this dude is taking away a spot someone genuinely needs.

Next time you see his car call the police or whoever is responsible for that in your area. Here in CA you will get a BIG fine for that.

This surprises the shit out of me... 235 seems pretty normal and fairly easy to hit.

Problem is he had a valid handicap placard hanging from the inside rear view mirror. So he was abusing the placard that was probably issued for a family member or something. And before anyone jumps on saying maybe he was there with said handicap person...no. He was totally alone.

That's an additional violation, IIRC.

My dad was torn for a few weeks after my mom passed.

"You BETTER turn that back in. How would you feel if we drove up and there wasn't a spot for mom?"

That says a lot about his character, or lack there of. On top of being lazy and a douche. If you are not handicapped or are not driving someone who is, take the placard down and part in a regular spot. End of story.

Don't read too much into it.

99% of people at the gym (including people in this thread) wouldn't think twice about other people. It's just a thread with a bunch of bored gym bros

I think most of us would agree that the worst type of gym-goer is the one that makes others feel uncomfortable or self conscious.

Oh yeah I get all that, No ones ever made me feel uncomfortable in the gym other than myself, looking around at all the fit people. effects us all at some point. I have to getting the eating down first, then the gym. I've always been an endurance athlete, so the lighter I was the faster I was. Now that I'm not cycling in races anymore I'd like to try the other end of things and gain a few pounds. their was always a stigma in cycling about cyclist being too thin, borderline underweight. I'm tired of being skinny ha.

GOMAD - easy and effective. Will put some meat on them bones. I would suggest starting a workout routine at the same time, you don't want to do that while being sedentary.

But also there are a lot of medical conditions that are not apparent from first glance or from the outside. So maybe they do have a condition that permits them to have a placard. I know a normal looking 40 year old guy at my work who has a placard, and it's because he is missing like half of one of his lungs or something like that, so you never know.

If you've seen this guy, you couldn't think of any condition he would have to warrant that placard. As I said, the dude looked like he competes in body building contests. If I remember correctly, he was about 5'8" to 5'10" looked to weigh about 225 to 240lbs and ripped to shreds. I wouldn't even be surprised if the guy was juicing too.

Doesn't matter, he may have an underlying condition, and nobody should be judging the guy.

There's a chick at my 24 hr fitness that's shredded, wears gym shark apparel everyday, and kicks major ass every time she works out, but she doesn't even have a left arm, not even a nub lol.

Just because you have some kind of condition, doesn't automatically equate to not being in shape

So explain to me what underlying condition this guy could possibly have where he has ALL 4 limbs right down to appendages and look like he could pick up a Prius? Especially when the premise of having a handicap spot is for people that have some sort of physical disability which allows them to have ease of access to shops/stores.
