I just put a stock turbo/exhaust mani on a bathroom scale and it's 13lbs with an oil line still attached. So under 30lbs for both. Probably not much weight savings overall for that section.

Lol the weight saving is not a big deal.

If you want to save weight, get a custom titanium exhaust made from the exhaust turbine back.

You only need one pipe now.

Shiv, are you planning to make the single turbo pass emission for us in affected states?

Even the stock S54 crank will destroy the vibration damper with only a few trips past 8200RPM. PTG ran cooling ducts to the damper on their E36 (S50Euro) and E46 (S54) IMSA/World Challenge cars (before the V8). When the E46 M3 was in Grand Am, engineers would look at the data and scrap the damper after 5-6 over-revs of 8200+. They told me that they had seen too many damper failures, and it's due to the crankshaft not being able to handle the revs, which takes its toll on the damper.

Additionally, S52 3.2L and M54 3.0L engines break oil pump shafts at higher revs. It's all about the crankshaft torsional vibrations. So I'd do some testing before arbitrarily raising the rev limit.
Yeah that's why you can only rev a stock rb26 crank to 10,500rpms(although some are pushed to 11k). People with aftermarket cranks have gone even higher.

I thought you were talking about that monster midrange you get from a smaller turbo turned up to high boost. Supras with big turbos are a separate subject.

No unwanted throttle closure. No boost oscillations. No AFR lag/delay. No smoke out the tailpipe. No wastegate rattle. No turbo siren. Just insane how it is able to manage a 630whp engine just as easily as it is able to manage a 500whp engine.
I love updates..

And here I thought after everything and my recent dyno that 371whp/389tq

was the greatest thing to ever happen to me..

I should probably get rid of this crush bent muffler shop exhaust I had it made for me back in 2006 before any aftermarket mandrel bent exhausts were available.

Dude, seriously?! Lol just un-bolt it all and run some numbers again! At least for the N20 MAP sensor swap, assuming it all goes well.

shiv- you have probably considered this, but i see this kit as a great opportunity to convert to a single 3" or 3.5" midpipe. the downpipe would be a lot more simple; it wouldn't need to split into twin midpipes like it currently is. [depending on pricing] i, for one, would be interested in this kit with a 3" or 3.5" downpipe and midpipe section. you can still split the midpipe at the end to mufflers. or, use your downpipe in conjunction with the HPF exhaust

I hope someone runs a stock 328i bumper with a single 3" all the way back with bi-tips. Change the badge from 335i to 328i and it'll be the craziest sleeper. LOL
