There was also a period in the 90s when a drug culture existed and was linked to different scenes, such as the bands that emerged from Manchester, (known as the Madchester Scene) and the whole Acid House, Rave culture. Ecstasy was the drug of choice, along with Speed and LSD. That doesn't mean that everyone indulged in these drugs though.

But i certainly did! loved every debauched moment. dont do them any more.

I'll have a go but can't remember most of the groups I've seen.

Rush (lots of times, 5 or 6)
AC/DC (3 or 4 times)
Status Quo (lots of times always farewell gigs, lol)
Thin Lizzy
Blue Oyster Cult
Motorhead
Saxon
U2
The Scorpions
Genesis
Pink Floyd
Gunn
Whitesnake
Rainbow
Ian Gillan Band
Guns n Roses
Van Halen
Meatloaf
Metallica
Bon Jovi
Dire Straights
Gloria Estefan
Witch Doktors
Def Leppard
Max Webster
UFO
Aerosmith

There are probably quite a few more, I'll have to think about it.

Regards

Chris

She was brilliant!

We originally had tickets to see her but she broke her back, so the tour was delayed for about a year.

She started the show disguised as just another dancer doing some amazing routines and then unmasked which was pretty cool considering what she had been through.

Regards

Chris

Gigs that have really impressed me recently......

Black Kids
José Gonzalez
Hot Chip

and the concert that really blew me away was Mika, took my daughter as she wanted to go and it was amazing. Maybe because it was the Carling academy which is a nice small venue, but I loved that gig.

Also saw Joan Armatrading last year and she was just sublime. Probably the best live gig I have been to.

I agree with Duran Duran being terrible. I wanted to go 3 tracks in, but then I only relly liked their 'Liberty' album and they never play any of that.

Jools Holland is always good too, especially when he does his outdoor gigs so you can take a picnic, a few bottles and whatever else tickles your fancy!
