Any N52 with headers

I have a 330i and I want to get headers. The smog people at my place just connect obd 2 and open the hood. But they dont go all out and look around like crazy. They literally open the hood and leave the car connected to the STAR SMOG. I always pass. And even pass on my other e90 with a Rogue engineering muffler and no resonator. If i want headers on my e90. Will a code come out if i get one with cats? I already dont have secondary cats and replaced with supersprints.

Yes, you will have a code for malfunctioning primary catalytic converters. Not a good idea to run without a tune as well. Tunes are also illegal in california now
