Rear passenger fog light out

Hi, rear passenger fog light is out. The bulb seems fine.

I reset the short circuit with Tools32.

So I am guessing broken wire in the loom or dodgy earth.
I checked with a voltmeter, and dont think its getting 12v, sometimes reads 6v.

Anyone know which wires are for the fog light ?

Thx

Have checked the bulb and the contact points of the housing? There could be corrosion buildup on the contact points.

I checked the connector to the bulb and looks like no power, so likely broken wire somewhere in the loom

Check the wiring in the rubber conduit (BMW calls it a “grommet”) that runs between the body and the trunk lid. My guess is you have broken wire(s) in there.

I was having issues with some of my rear lights and it ended up being this.

Unfortunately repair is a bit of a PITA but it’s totally doable. I just pulled the conduit down past where the break was and then soldered and used heat shrink.

I checked the wiring in Haynes manual and the fog light connector isn’t getting 12v, I’m guessing I need to find the break, or wire it further up past the break with a scotch lock or something.
