Question E Series N55 RHD downpipe options

Hey guys,

New to the forums, but I've had my E92 335i N55 6mt for a couple of years and am getting serious about modding it after deciding recently it was too good to sell.

What downpipes are people running for their E series N55s over here?

I've read that there's fitment issues on RHD due to the steering gear being in the way of the O2 sensor placement of most aftermarket options.

Anyone running catless and had any problems with EPA/Police?

AR Design Catless 4 inch on mine, perfect fitment

Only had compliments from police, EPA I’ve never seen

Just don’t drive like an idiot and you will be fine with a louder exhaust

Awesome, thanks for the input. Have to say I've never once been pulled over driving the 335, which is quite a change in attitude from police from when I owned modified Jap imports.

Did you fit the down pipe yourself or have a shop do it?

Is a pain in the ass to fit
Is the one mod I would happily pay an Indy shop to do

Having my clutch done in a week or two (550i clutch upgrade), thinking of getting the shop to do the downpipe as well.

Anyone know if the VRSF downpipe fits right hand drive? I've tried emailing off their contact form last week and sending them a facebook message, but no response.

Vrsf O2 sensor placement fouls the rack for the secondary O2. Vrsf will say their downpipe fits great though...

Ah, that's disappointing to hear. Sounds like you've had a go at fitting one?

It seems as though that there are two versions of the VRSF pipe.

Several vendors show this picture for the downpipe;

Whereas the VRSF wesbite shows this image;

I wonder if the second downpipe shown would clear the steering rack with the relocated O2 bung?

VRSF got back to me today and officially stated their downpipe in it's current form does not fit right hand drive vehicles.

However, they've been very helpful and may have come up with a solution... Will post when I know more.

There's people on here who have purchased the vrsf downpipes, you either need to drill and weld the bung in the correct stock location (no idea why it's not in the original location to begin with), or run a 45/90 degree O2 spacer bung.

Welding the bung in the correct location is definitely the way to go

Can confirm this works. My mechanic did it for my DP.
