Has anyone done FDS Switch from Z4 E89? I have x5 3.0si, with msv80 SW 07602220. I coded CIC and JBF3 with enabled FDS. Then I tried to send 0x315 with F2/F1 in the second byte and alive counter at the first byte, also tried 11/22/32 as the second byte. None of this worked. status_spt->STAT_STAT_SPT always zero, and CIC didn't react. I looked at funktionsrahmen of msd80 and found that CONF_SOF_SWI should be enabled for SPORT diagnostic. So my question does someone have CONF_SOF_SWI address or maybe a complete MSV80 XDF/damos? Or maybe someone did FDS on MSV80? Am not asking for it for free, I can exchange this knowledge for knowledge that I got:
-Combox F to E series conversion
-6hp Flash method
-VSGS E series flash method
-Kombi E series flash hacks

reverting back to stock

I've flashed my 128i to the 130i tune and my idle at start is doing some weird stuff and I'm hearing some sqeaky noises as my engine settles down in the first 10 seconds. I'd like to flash it back to stock..

there are 4 stock files on bimmerlabs but I've flashed one of the .oda files and I'm getting a crank no start, so I flash back to 130 and it starts fine.

how do I get my stock tune back? There's not much information on flashing back to stock anywhere on the web and I've searched for hours.

thanks for any help.

I know this thread is mostly dead but this also seems like the most appropriate place to post this.
It looks like the Bimmerlabs 130i 3IM tune will not pass emissions in my state (massachusetts). This appears to be because the DMTL check is set to "not supported" by the tune as a result of it being based on the the euro cars that have no DMTL system.

Massachusetts fails any car when a monitor is unsupported which should be. They further flag you to need to visit a "MAC" for further scrutiny before you are permitted to even get re-inspected.

That said, I now have a stock tune back on the car and need to decide how to proceed. I would prefer the "free is better" approach and would like to start with Hass' tune and re-enable the DMTL system. Alternatively, I could purchase an off-the-shelf tune in which this is not an issue. Third option of course is to run Hass' tune as-is until it's time for the annual inspection but I'd rather not do this out of principle.

Any advice on accomplishung option 1 or suggestion of an off the shelf tune for option 2?

Takes , something like two minutes to flash tunes. Why not flash back to stock for the test and then back to the tune after.

It’s free and takes nearly no time. Just flash the calibtration files and don’t mess with the program.

Right, this was option 3 above. I know this might not seem like a valid reason but I don't like the idea of skirting emissions rules, especially when the e90 330 exists in the US and the tune that should be "legal" in that sense. I've found people tuning out the DMTL check in non-compliant cars so hope that reverse might be accomplished.
And maybe I'll learn something on the way.

I am in the exact opposite situation, I flashed US 328i to 330i tune to my EU spec car, and keeps getting DMTL error.

Bimmerlabs being such a good platform it's a shame that the creators are no longer actively working on it/providing custom services.

But since the website is still up and running, I wonder if there are any people out there creating custom files based on bimmerlabs? I know some of the members did the power byte change for 323i to 325i so it's definitely possible to make your own changes.

I am pretty sure MSV80 330i did not exist in the US, being replaced by 328i and 335i. I managed to find a 2010 E92 330i (258hp) for sale in my region, EU spec, and used its vin in bimmerlabs, downloaded the stock tune (8608462) for that car and flashed it.

Guess what? DMTL and 2FA3 code went away and car runs even better than the 328i to 330i tune (Which I had to change the powerclass byte myself otherwise the car would go into limp mode).

In short, bimmerlabs US 328i VIN RSA delete + EU 330i stock tune = working EU 325i to 330i engine swapped car.

And another added-bonus, I added VO $199 (no catalytic converter and leaded fuel, according to forum posts) in NCS Expert and coded DME, my hollowed out factory headers no longer throw code, so I guess it's success for my poor man's straight pipes.

(P.S.1: I am going to run the car for a while and see if it works as 330i, but I am probably eventually going to get a custom tune for $450 at 22RPD and actual headers, which again is kind of a shame bimmerlabs isn't "commercially" active and there isn't much community tuning/map editing out there)

(P.S.2: I flashed everything with a generic green PCB cable that I got in 2017, RSA delete took ~22 minutes and 0da ~1 minute, have a bimmergeeks cable on order but got impatient.)

In summary of my research and trials so far, I believe:

bimmerlabs 328i to 330i tune is essentially 330i map + powerclass change (powerclass set to 1 but DME ignores it). This requires RSA delete as the files are altered.

For someone like me swapping N52B30 into 325i, which is already powerclass 2, I believe I could have simply flashed stock 330i 0da and it would work without RSA delete, since it's original BMW file.

AKA: if you are doing 28i to 30i, I suggest you could try flashing a stock 30i tune (that's same region as yours) but you would have to change the powerclass byte, cheerio had some info on this and I simply use the address they found for the E90 (0x219 if i remember correctly). Otherwise you could try using their script to find the byte location and change it yourself.

That's the thing- never had a 130i been made with a DTML pump.
Other n52 30i cars were made with DTML (2006 330i in USA and several others (z4?) In Europe), though not necessarily with the monitor.

Can you tell me how you enabled the coolant temperature?

Try setting lc_var_sof_swi to 01 (0x423FF in MI20S; I can find it in other program versions if you're on something else)

CONF_SOF_SWI is a RAM address, but the above should be the constant that controls it.

You will need to correct or disable the MO3 checksums to change that value.

Hey, by patching firmware, unfortunately it cant be done through OBD.
