Use toggle bolts for this!
I would strongly agree with post number 174. The easiest way to this job is to use toggle bolts. See the size in the attached images of a completed job.
I didn't read the full thread before trying this fix. Dumb move. It took me numerous trips to Home Depot before figuring this out. I should probably drop the whole thing in some paint to avoid rusting which I will do eventually. I also used an air conditioning filter and dual sided tape to prevent the plate from scratching the front. Happy driving! |

Here is my take on the Bell "no-holes" mount - thanks to the OP and others for paving the way!
I used toggler bolts from Home Depot, big 1/2" washers, 2" right angle brakets and some 3M two sided exterior mounting tape attached to the underside of the bumper to firm it all up! Check it out ...

Where do I find this front license plate bracket?
So...love your adjustable bracket. You mentioned in your May 2010 post that you got it at AutoZone. I've been in the stores and searched for it online but alas, it's nowhere to be found. Any idea where else I might find one?
Thanks! http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=374893 |

Thanks for that! Just ordered it via the link you sent. By the way, I haven't been to the AutoZone in Mira Mesa but will stop in the next time I'm in the area.
Cheers! |

Thx for this thread! Figured I'd post my OCD version. So, I probably wasted entirely too much time on this but...I did this to my 135i but painted all the components black beforehand with some extra gloss black paint I had in my garage. I also bought and used nylon screws for the front and used vacuum line rubber tips for the top ones to prevent marring the actual bumper, and 3 rubber washers on the lower bolts to act as offsets to get a better angle for the plate.
. (Sorry for the blurry first pic and the filthy car)
