I'm on DWR's latest TCU tune, and it's fantastic.

Read through this thread. I'm using DWR's tcu tune and couldn't be happier. It completely transformed my x5d

hate to say it since I have been in awe of his work here over the years but I don't like DWR's tune. I much prefer the stage 3 xhp. while not as smooth I much prefer quick shifts and better use of the power band...not saying that the xhp stage 3 is perfect but a lot better than DWRs.

Exact opposite for me. Had xHP stage 3, went DWR. However I haven't tried the latest ver of the xHP stg3 tune. Lets hope they made a lot of changes.. Original was garbage.

I would not call it garbage. Just like with anything, it’s a gradual progress and it’s nice they offer free updates.

So yes It seems xhp tune does solve that warm up behavior
I also have periodic late shift from 2nd to 3rd. It seems to happen more often before warmed up but I've noticed also when warm. xHP tune didn't change that behavior for me.

What do we need to purchase from xhp to allow us to use the DWR tune? (Which package)

And can someone PM the cost of his tunes at the min? Guessing he doesn’t want the price on the forum?
Cheers
Andy

What version and stage are you using of xhp? Revisions were made to warm up behavior. I’m using stage 2 with the newest version and had no issue. Only thing I noticed is the car revs stay high around 2,000rpm when shifting... probably because the torque converter doesn’t engage as soon when it’s cold, cause more slip means more heat, which will warm up the transmission faster. I’m only guessing that’s what’s happening though...

You will need xHP flashtool. Then you can use the tune file of your choice.

I've only used vs 3. Upgraded to the latest version 3.2 and I still get late shift 2500-3000 rpm from 2nd to 3rd from time to time.
