i read about someone running the bilstein HD instead of sport with the eibach springs. the HD strut is supposed to be a little less firm and more daily driver friendly, much like the stock strut. my main concern is i dont want an uncomfortable ride anymore. that's why i got this car. i don't want it to feel like my evo

so what is the general consensus on lowering?...i have a 328xi e92 with a few years left on my warrenty but want to upgrade to 19"s...possibly m6 type or something different...i dont want a 4x4 stance if thats going to happen...so whats the best way to lower the car to standard i height(or even less just to get rid of the 4x4 look) for the minimal cost without worsing the ride(is possible making it drive better) i been reading to many dif opionions on the topic i dont wanna spend 2k lowering my car an inch or less honestly dont think its worth it especially if it makes my ride worse then it already is(potholes are killing my life)...i posted this elsewere but just want the best info

Im going to try B&G. Ive heard great reviews and the drop looks great. They have been really difficult to order though...on backorder everywhere.
Im going with the 328i/335i springs. The same spring is for both modals in sedan and coupe. This leads me to believe that any "I" spring can fit "XI" models of the same years. And if you have an older "XI", like mine (07). The suspension sucks anyway. Once I have them mounted I will give a review. |

Brand shouldnt matter. The part is what matters. If eibach makes an I spring and B&G makes an I spring it should be the same spring no matter what. Spring rate and construction may be different, but the part should fit the same. And actually they have very similar spring rates.

Guys, all the questions that have been asked in this thread have been answered many times over and in much greater detail.
Read the XI suspension thread that is stickied, it answers most of your questions and doing a quick search will yield a list of spring rates for all coilovers and springs. |

Have you considered calling B&G? They can tell you definitively whether or not they will fit and if they don't know, they may be willing to send you some "samples" to see if they do. And even if they won't do that, you may be able to talk them into letting you purchase springs with a return guarantee if they don't fit (make sure to get it in writing/email). There are ways to get your answer other than waiting for someone else to do it. I will be going through all of this myself as I'm waiting for Swift to release their springs which obviously no one has tried on before. |

I've contacted BnG and the rep there did say he wasn't sure about fitment. People run Eibachs on xi's but if you call eibach they will tell you they won't fit.
And BTW I didn't ask anyone for an answer to anything. I was telling massbimmer that I was trying this setup, and the conversation turned into this. It's all good though, more information means being better informed. Thanks for your feedback. [QUOTE=Lenaxia;9415976][QUOTE=hajduk;9415908]Nobody has ever answered this question. Show me one thread where somebody talks about confirmed fitmant of B |

Not XI swift springs specifically, but they are releasing Spec-R springs for the e90 here in a few weeks and as has been shown in the past, lowering springs work for both XI and I.
I will be matching mine up with Bilstein B8 sprints the second they come out. |

Did you ever get the Eibach/Bilstein setup? How do you like them?
What are the part numbers? How much? parts? install? alignment? Who did you buy from? |

H & R Springs
I put the H & R Sport Springs on my 2010 335i X-drive and got a 1.25 inch drop all around- great cosmetic improvement. My teeth jar when I roll over wet cigarette butts or Q-tips, but I'm lovin it. Dealer charged me $800 for the install and re-alignment. They were gonna charge about the same to install a coil over kit. The springs were only a few hundred bucks so I skipped the coil overs.

Has anyone tried Koni Yellow Sports shocks with Eibachs? How do the Koni Yellow Sports shocks compare to Bilstein Sport shocks?
I was considering this setup for my E92 328xi: Eibach 2091.140 Koni Yellow Sport Shocks 8741-1535LSport (x1) 8741-1535RSport (x1) 8240-1236Sport (x2) |
