HARD motorsport trunk floor/exhaust heat shield delete

Hi guys,

My exhaust heat shields are rattling around, so I decided to do some work in the back of the car and consider replacing them. During my search, I stumbled across the HARD trunk floor filler panel (http://www.hardmotorsport.com/hard-m...-filler-panel/), which I'm interested in for replacing the plastic tub in my trunk (which I never use). Problem is, that tub has the mounting points for the exhaust heat shielding. I was wondering if anyone has this floor and/or has deleted the exhaust heat shielding with the stock exhaust? The car is daily'd so I only want to do this if there's no risk to surrounding elements. I assume the heat shields are there largely to protect the plastics or the exhaust gas burn off system. Either way, would be nice to spend the money from the heat shields on something useful.

Thanks!
