Ky0u's e92 Build
Intended to be a stock DD while I built up my other car. But I suck at "want vs need" and ended up with an e92 335i. Lockdown and poor impulse control means the stock intent has flown out the window.
Current progress: 04/2007 - e92 335i(n54) - 6AT - SBM/CR FBO Stage 2+ e30 (Todo/planned) Maintenance

My DIY process (and materials) for CF skinning if anyone is interested Last edited by ky0u; 06-13-2021 at 11:48 AM.. Reason: Added DIY documentation |

Decided to try my hand at carbon fiber skinning as an intro to working with CF in general. Purchased a couple rolls of honeycomb weave to add to a few parts on my car

I love the wrap. How did the MHD stage 1+ feel? Waitinf on my Thor adapter to arrive so I can flash the MHD, already purchased that and the xHP suite.
Do you recall what part # the S55 coils were? When I'm looking them up I'm seeing 2 part #'s....1 is the same as the N54 part # and the other also correlates to the N55. |

Thanks. That's what I was seeing. They're the same coils that FCP sells as the OEM N54 coils. I'll just get them and be done! https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...12138616153kt8
I was enamored with the wrap and didn't see your DIY CF trim. I love that stuff too. The weave is different. I like unique! |

How difficult was the paddle retrofit on a 10 scale? The paddles drove me nuts the 1st few weeks. Slowly getting used to them, but I'd prefer "sane" people flappy paddles instead!

Install involves splitting the OEM paddle hardware and making use of a part of it, so fitment is perfect when mounting to the steering wheel holes Few pics from the project:

I'm lucky when my poor impulse control results in something this nice looking, great work! I love the front clip skin, mine is so beat I have to do something with it you moved this option up a couple notches

Thank you, I still need to polish the high kick and knock out a few more pieces, getting there slowly!

Picked a set of B8s up off a forum user
Huge improvement over the 120k mile factory set up I was still running. I compressed the old rear shock to pull it out from the top mount and it never came back up

Thread update, figured I'd hold off til I got around to adding a few more pieces to my car. She's officially FBO as of this weekend
First was a Fuel-it stage 2 pump. F*ck you to that metal lock ring and double f*ck you to that fuel line clip under the lid of the pump covers. Next I slapped on a set of VRSF catless pipes. Super F*ck You to those v-clamps. Turned on cold noise reduction right away when I heard how loud the cold start was Lastly, snagged a VRSF 7" FMIC from a part out for an absolute steal. It had received some pretty good damage but found out it's pretty much just cosemetic. Core was not breached, fully functional as supported by my much improved IATs and solidly consistent boost behaviour. but quadruple mega f*ck you to... nah this one actually went surprisingly smoothly, can't complain

How do you like the paddles?
Also, how is the carbon holding up? I was thinking of doing something similar. Nice work!

Nice car. I can't believe you are doing everything on ramps.

Paddles are also great. Still one of my favorite mods on this car. They get a ton of use since I'm in M mode majority of the time (not even because I hoon everywhere, moreso idk wtf to do with my hands coming from a decade of driving just MT) Thank you! I think in terms of power building mods, she's pretty much done now good balance of solid power without compromising reliability too much.

After I buy my own house, I'm definitely getting a lift though. My body isn't bouncing back as quickly as it used to from being under the car all day lmao
