E90 2006 USB Retrofit

Hi everyone,

I have a E90 03/06 with TCU 1.5, $633, $6AA and $612.
I wanted USB functionality and bought an used MULF2HI.

I removed $633, $6AA and $612 from VO and added $6FL and $644.

Then I default coded by temporary changing the build date to 03/07 the CAPPL, 2MULF and KOMBI (to remove the SOS error) modules.

Everything is working fine BUT the fact that every time I run ISTA-D or ISTA-P, I get an error S 0195 "No communication possible with Telephone control unit" and ISTA does a MOST-Reset procedure.

I do not get this error by using an older version of ISTA-D.

I read a lot of other threads but there was no issue like this one.

Surely you have to code the MOST gateway CCC-GW to default?

Also there is an option in ISTA to 'update MOST configuration'

you do not need to remove TCU if you want add MULF2HIGH for USB
return to old VO, bump zeitkriterium to 0906 or 0307, add 6FL and everything will be fine

Yes, I know but then I need to connect the MULF to the MOST and I did not want to cut cables and so on. This is why I decided to completely remove the TCU and replace it with the MULF2HI.

So with the MULF2HI only, shall I use zeitkriterium 0906 or 0307 when defaulting the 2MULF and the CCC-Modules? When I used 0307 to CAPPL, it added Welcome Lights which my car does not have a option, I guess due to me having the FRM1, not 2.

I will try to default the GATEWAY as well as I forgot about it. Thanks.

Defaulting the CGATE dis no help. Interesting with ISTA-D 3.47 there is no TEL/MULF on the tree thus no error.

0307 will require nfrm instead frm

Do you know if there was a OEM with JUST the MULF2HI and no TCU in E9x?

yes, but in that case you should remove all telematic options and functions

why would you ever want a DTF TCU in there to let you down... ?

mulf 2hi does the phone bt and USB features properly

Quality from MULF2HIGH while speaking on the phone is much worse than on the TCU.

hello! I have recently upgraded my 2006 E90, 320d MULF device to MULF2HIGH in order to have the USB function from the armrest but after all the codings, i still have an error on ISTA ("No communication with control unit possible" / "The control unit does not respond"). The thing is that everything is working fine (bluetooth, USB) but i would like to get rid of that error. Any help, please?
