New to the site - my purchase

Hi,

Newbie to this site so thought I would post pics of my new purchase and a bit of background to it.

I used to own a Silver E46 Coupe 325i, but the time was well overdue to change it as it had done far to many miles and started to cost me to much in repairs etc.

Orginally I started looking at diesels as heard everyone raving about them and the MPG's etc so I test drove a 320d Coupe and to be honest I didnt really like it. My mate I had just purchased a 325d Coupe and I drove that and that was better, but there was still something about the diesels that I wasnt sold on and for my budget of around 16K, I couldnt really find a 325d Coupe in the spec that I wanted. My wish list was for a Black M-Sport, had to have leather, 19"s and had to have no more than 45k miles on the clock.

I then started to think about sticking with a petrol car and having looked at possible cars to buy for a while, it was apparant that you got alot more car for your money if you bought petrol so I looked further into the MPG's via the Manfacturer's guidelines and www.honestjohn.co.uk to see real life figures and the differences between the 325i, 330i and the 335i were not as much as I thought and as a 335i has been a dream car of mine (well until I can afford or get insured on an M3), I decided to narrow my search down to the 335i.

The one I bought was from Bavarian BMW in Belfast (pictures below), it was born on May 2007, 41k miles, Black Leather, Black BMW Performance Grill, 19" Alloys, Bluetooth Handsfree and comes with all the benefits of buying a BMW Approved Used Car. I even negotiated a full tank of fuel to help me get home.

The journey to collect it consisted of an 8.35am flight out of Southampton, arrived into Belfast at 9.50am and was met by a taxi which Bavarian had sent to collect me. Car was ready to go so signed a few papers etc and then salesman drove in front of me to show me the way to the ferry. Got the 11.45am ferry to Stranraer and arrived there at 2pm and then drove 400 miles back to Bournemouth and got home at 9pm. A long day but sooooooooooo worth it.

Hats off to Bavarian BMW, the service was first class and would recommend to anyone, not to write them off when searcing for a car, just because of where they are based.

Seriously? I realise the OP had little choice here, it being registered in NI, but otherwise they look horrid as if you've gone for a "private" plate but can't afford a good one.

GAZ 7437, DAZ 4762, BAZ 2847 etc.

To be honest, I am not in any rush to lose the NI plate, especially knowing how hard dealings can be with the DVLA.

Its true about people thinking its a private plate over an NI plate, but thats understandable really if you havent been over to NI or seen a NI plate before.

The spec is:

M-Sport
Black Leather Interior
Silver Trim
BMW Performance Black Grille
Heated Seats
Full Electric Memory Seats
Bluetooth Handsfree
19" Alloys

Visually I think she just needs dark tints round the back and light at the front and then she's exactly how I want her.

Or you bought it in NI.

If some people don't realise that so what?

Similar to those that debadge a high end model that some people think is debaged because it is a base model.

Thats what the taxi driver said as well who BMW sent to pick me up.

I was looking over here for weeks and they were all around the 18k mark and not via BMW for similar spec and not in the colour I wanted.

I got this for 16K and this includes the benefits of BMW Approved.

Big engined petrol are seriously unloved over here in northern Ireland. This country is diesel mad. I am a mega petrol head but would not consider a 335 petrol and bought a 335d so that residuals would be loads better over here.
