Was supposed to be in 2013, then 2014 and now (to my knowledge) pushed out to 2015. Would be nice to see some more Euro marques on the streets, some more city cars and especially more hot hatches. The constant sea of 5' tall women driving 8 tonne SUVs and trucks gets old. And terrifying.

Yes, more hot hatches to NA!! Scirocco R, Megane RS, Civic Type R, Focus ST or RS 500, Clio RS (I miss the little pocket rocket), Astra VXR, to name a few. Would def make driving more interesting.

Licensed in 98', now 31 yet I still find myself under house arrest on account of all 4 wisdom teeth having been removed this morning... Cars in order of purchase are as follows:

92 Chevrolet Cavalier Convertible (made for a great high school/college car)
05 Cadillac CTS-V (present for myself for completing my Eng Undergrad; owned for two fantastic years before I ended up parking it inside a jewelry store )
01 Pontiac Sunfire (Beater #1 to weather the horrible insurance rates the caddy left me with and as self administered punishment)
00 Pontiac Sunfire (Beater #2; replaced beater #1)
98 Oldsmobile Aurora (Beater #3 hand me down from family; certainly the most comfortable and capable beater I have owned; still use it in the winter)
09 BMW 335i MT M-Sport (Latest present to myself as a reward for enduring 5 long sad years of terrible insurance rates and beaters; my Dad is a GM guy through and through, he retires from there with 30 yrs. exp 3 months from now, but after letting him borrow the car for a few days with a COBB Tuned Stage 1+ he has openly admitted to me that he loves it and has agreed to allow me to park it in his driveway when I come visit )

Gotta love happy endings...Oh and I just ordered my VRSF catless dps this morning once the drugs wore off enough to type in my credit card information

Mine's in my signature.

My Audi was the only car I miss, it got totalled when some moron decided to take a rip on the highway drunk out of his mind. Even more fun, my clock spring had failed sometime during that drive and my driver airbag didn't pop.

The car was fully built too, the motor was bored, higher comp, new sold valves, garrett 2871R big turbo, clutchmasters FX400 and a 19lb fly, lots and lots of mods... Insurance Company gave me 4k... I was able to salvage some of it and sell the parts. That was the day decided I would never majorly mod a car again.

I second the statement on the Passat... What a turd. Mine had the left cam tensioner fly apart, motor starved for oil and fragged itself before I could even pull over and kill the motor (was on a busy freeway).

Lots of BMW's
Lots of Ford SVT products

Then there was the Backdraft Cobra that changed it all.

I don't feel as bad after reading some of the above posts.

Since 1971 - trying to exclude the ex's cars

66 Ford Mustang
73 Pinto (Dad made me do it - I wanted a Datsun for College)
79 Mazda RX-7 (oooooh, chick magnet but lightweight in the back)
79 BMW 320i (4 banger)
82 Mitsu Montero (6 months of sewing machine 4X4)
82 Mazda GLC (it was a great LITTLE NOISY car)
84 BMW 325e (BMWBORING - rev limiter around 5500)
84 VW GTI (terrible PA build but great little throw around urban car)
95 Audi A4 (no power at low rpm's and I mean none)
99 Audi A6 (mediocre engine technology -great room)
01 Audi 225 TT (tuned and exhaust w APR added another 35 hp) Gotta' admit - chicks even looked at middle aged guys with this car back then...
00 BMW 323i (sports suspension and seats - bought w 89k well worn seats mileage, no chicks)
09 BMW 328i (CPO @ 46k - sports suspension, seats, heated, xenons, etc. great shape, no chicks … lol)

All MT except A6.

34 (1985) as of 2020, licensed in Nov 2002 (16):

As you can tell, I name my cars after cool-sounding bladed weapons instead of human names.
  • "Dagger" (just thought it sounded cool): 1991 Buick Century Custom: Flame Red Metallic/Red (Aug 2002-Dec 2003)
  • "Boken" (AKA "Banana") (hated that car since day 1 but still wanted a blade-sounding name) 2004 Nishit Sencrap 1.8S: Radium Silver Metallic (AKA not quit bronze, not quite gray, so I dunno WTF it is)/Gray (Dec 2003 - Aug 2005)
  • "Scythe" 1999 Toyota Solara SLE V6 (first car I actually wanted, so I thought it was a "death" to other cars; plus it's a spin on the Toyota Scepter): Red Flame Metallic/Tan (Aug 2005 - Jul 2011)
  • Bus / train / bumming rides (Jul 2011 - Oct 2012)
  • [No nickname since I was borrowing my roommate's old car, not owned]: 1991 Isuzu Rodeo: Steel Blue Metallic/Grayish-brown? (Oct 2012 - Mar 2013)
  • "Claymore" (large and powerful) 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT V8 4×4 I inherited: Patriot Blue Pearl/Gray (Jun 2013 - Sep 2013)
  • "Machete" (so named for its versatility) 2006 BMW 330xi: Schwarz II/Tan (Sep 2013 - Jan 2020)
  • "Trident" (large weapon, but also jokingly a nod to the browser engine) 2017 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD: Shadow Black/Ebony Black Leather (Jan 2020 - present)

32, cars as follows:
91 Nissan hardbody pickup. 2.4, 4cyl 5spd. Learned stick on it. Lowered on 17" Boyds which at the time were the size on a mini truck.
96 vw golf 2L, 5SPD. Turbo'd at a time when very few were. Bought from a friend who is still setting records and pushing the vw's.
04 Saturn ion 5SPD. Tied for Most reliable car I ever had with Nissan. Actually would chirp 3rd gear.
05 acura TL 6 spd. Great car but I hated drive by wire. It was always unsmooth taking off.
07 328xi 6 spd, current.
Also had 2 s10's for hot minutes. Maybe 2 months max and not primary cars.
