Having had multiple of both, the GM vs. a ZF with XHP3 is no competition, with the ZF being a clear winner. Stock vs stock, ZF still shifts quicker.

Some models of GM can take a euro flash, I believe it's called Euro2, which supposedly improves it a lot. I have not had one with this to compare.
