I'm just waiting for my car to come out of the shop with my new battery wire Lol, and my whole injectors thing to resolve. After I get my POS back I'm going car shopping looking at the $70-80k range. I like the CLS 550, cherokee SRT8, and the A7. But I don't think I'm done driving a coupe yet. I'm single 28 with no kids so a 4 door is not necessary. I want a V8 more than anything. 4 wheel drive would be a plus as well cause it can get bad here in the winter. I have my heart set on a Audi RS5 but don't know how available it is. I think the 2013's are all sold out. Hopefully my car won't have any problems before 2014's comes out. I guess I'll have to go to a dealership when ever I get my car back.

Cayman ... game over. Audi and Benz are pigs. You can also check out CTS-V but it's a pig also.

AWD is not necessary unless you drive on snow packed roads for months. Winter tires do the trick.

Sorry to hear about your problems. With the E9X generation, it would seem like the 335's are the reliability monsters -- the 328 and M3 are both solid cars. I think with the N54/N55, you have to be willing to take a reliability risk in exchange for the driving pleasure and performance. I know that's a retarded thing to say about a 50K car but in all honesty, my car's been to the dealership a couple times (injectors/spark plugs, and battery recall) but I would not trade it. I guess I've been lucky not to be plagued with the "big" problems.

Good luck with your new ride, whatever it may be. Really though, if you read up on the 335 before you bought it, you know that many of these problems are to be expected.
I wanted a 335, but went with the 330 for the better reliability.

Still, just having purchased nearly $500 worth of parts for a waterpump/thermostat, while I spent less than 1/5th of that for my e36 for the same job.... I just don't know where BMW is going these days.

At some point we need to realize that BMW ownership experience isn't all about getting to 60 in less than 5 seconds....

Did you forget about this?

"I hit my first huge bump and/or pot hole today. It was what looks to be a former sidewalk that they never smooth out. It was about 8 inches off the ground and I was going about 30mph when I hit it. Made a huge violent explosion and I thought for sure I destroyed something."

Who knows what other dumb a** stuff you have done to the car.

My 07 335i has 60k miles on it and has never really given me any problems, so no, I don't feel like a retard at all. I'm sorry to hear you got a bad one though.

That's good material. Wonder if he ever found those blow off valves he was looking for. Looks like he needs one today.

I'm sure hitting that bump contributed to the HPFP problem and the battery wire recall... Sorry if I offended your love for our unreliable car.

OP is right in every word about BMW. They are very very problematic vehicles. Some simple issues should NEVER be present on bmws.

I have an 07 335i. 89k miles and still love it. Plan on going 200k before replacing it. I have never gotten stuck by it and the only parts I had to replace (except recall items) were brakes, wiper blades, serpentine belt and alternator pulley. Small price to pay for such a nice ride. I guess it just depends on your point of view.

ive been lucky with my 325. but my cousin got a cpo 335 last year, hes had so many issues for a car that only had about 55,000kms on it. So far:
1) water pump
2) coils..twice
3) cabin noise, new door seals
4) new mirrors (they moved on their own)
5) new oil level sensor
6) busted hood cable
7) some other issue related to applying the brakes when in reverse, car stayed there for 1 week

hes been back to the dealer a good 5 times in 8 months. Ideally his turbos would blow, thats one repair he wouldnt mind going back for before the warranty ends.

The OP is right...
If i had the experience he had, not only would I fight BMW till the end, I would also never go back to BMW again.

However... that is not the case. I love my 09 335 and will continue to drive it for many years.

OP sorry for your bad experience...

but honestly my E90 was tuned to the teeth running 20psi in the midrange, FBO + meth + E85. not a single issue (worth mentioning). Never ever was I bummed out becaus3e of maintenance. Change a water pump once and oil gasket once that's it.

I demodded my car, and now it's up for sale. No rattle, no noise no nothing. I love it!
I bought a 2010 335i N54.

I'm on my second N54 now... to be exact I COULDN'T GET MYSELF TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE

OP, sorry to hear about all the mess.

Reminds me of my Audi B6 A4 1.8TQ after year 5. Couldn't wait to return that car at the end of the lease; even though the buyout amount was dropping by a few $1k every 1-2 months.

My Merc C300 4M was very reliable for 3 years and the most institutional driving experience. So I decided on BMW after returning the car.

Currently 1.5 years in, but the car suffered over $36k in damages following an accident so I don't feel extremely safe in the car with the family or during long road trips. When the timing is right, the car is going to be traded in although initially I had intentions to keep that car for 6-7 year.
