Hi all new to these boards, just after a bit of advice really. Bought a 320D M-sport in le mans blue a few months back.

I am after some nicer wheels than the m-sport ones that are fitted. I really like the 3SDM 0.01's and the CSL types. My question is I was originally just looking at getting some 18's, but seen some very nice E90's with 19's on. What do people think regarding size? I don't really want to have to lower the car. I quite like the stance it has on the M-sport suspension, How do you think it will sit on these two wheel sizes. Thanks!

First off Welcome to the forum!

In answer to your post, you will hopefully get lots of opinions, advice on wheel styles and size, but i think a good place to start your look is to have a look at
CM Wheels.

Personally i prefer 19" and have done on all my beemers, the ride is a bit harder but the look is so much better in my opinion, the wheels just fit the space better in simplistic terms!

Anyway that's my opinion, others will let you know there's, but do have a look at CM Wheels, and do mention you are a member of this forum and he will give you a nice discount on top of the good prices!!!

Thanks alot, I have had a look at CM wheels. Excellent variation of wheels on his site. I do like the look of 19's better.

In my opinion the 19s look significantly better than the 18s. I went from the 18" stock m sport wheels with run flats to OEMS 19" wheels with normal tyres and I was hard pressed to tell any difference in the ride. If pushed, I'd say it was perhaps better after the change.

If you're going ahead and buying wheels, for me this is a no brainer: 19s all the way.

I run a le mans Blue E92 fitted with 19" MV4s on run flats. They really set the car off -but I do think the ride is very hard indeed, no matter how hard I try to avoid pot-holes the big fat wheels seem to find some. Considered getting some 18" wheels for winter, just to try and keep the MV4s in good condition - but looking at the replicas available, I still think I'd end up getting another set of 19", they just look so good.

I have a square set of 18" CSL reps (Riva dtm) in excellent original condition with Conti winter tyres that will be going on eBay soon

Without lowering. you may be better with 18s. I went for 18" CSL reps from BMAutsport and can thoroughly recommend them. If you value ride quality again, 18s are to be preferred because you'll have to go for even lower profile tyres with 19s. Just my five penn'orth...

Thanks for the advice people. I wouldn't be running run-flats so hopefully that should make the ride a bit better whether 18" or 19".

I have the following setup on my SE e90 with M sport suspension. Arch gap is acceptable though the fronts could be a little lower. Ride and handling is good, no rubbing what so ever.

Fronts : 8.5 X 19. Tyre: 225/35x19
Rears : 9.5 X 19. Tyre: 265/30x19

I've only ran 19" with runflats and 18" with runflats and non runflats.

We all know ditching the runflats is the best thing you can do for ride comfort and protecting your wheels from cracking.

I'm running ferric grey mv3's at the moment but I am considering 19s on non runflat tyres.

5mm difference in profile usually which is a manageable difference in ride comfort.

19s all the way if you want looks!
