hey all, so i am a new member to the e90 family, and have been reading like crazy about how great the jb4 is, but just had 1 question. i noticed on the website is says it is the JB4 'beta'.. so is a newer, more stable version of the JB4 coming out in the near future? Is this still a trial run of the JB4? thanks

Also, I got my JB4 dyno'd. The person who dyno'd it said I was getting better air/fuel ratio / power off map 2 and all I have is afe dci. I find that odd but whatever. It shoots me from 30 to 80 in 2 seconds or so. But I suggest everyone with a JB4 to dyno. I found out my HP is only 330 with it but with 370 torque. So I'm buying downpipes and a FMIC as soon as possible to get my HP up. Fuck the laws in VA I need my car faster.

so what are the parameter differences between maps 1 and 2...btw, either of those results seem like the biggest bang for the buck!

I'm going to get my dyno charts today and upload them. They say you should not run map 2 at all unless you have a bolt on. DCI and FMIC or DCI and DP, I also saw somewhere that a DCI is the BARE minimum you should run on map 2. But my map 2 was getting better fuel/air ratio than map one, and the torque increase by 10 from map 1. I need to get these charts up

this was on the n54tuning site, somewhat answered my question
Map List Map 0: Stock bypass. This is the only map you may use a BT cable with. Map 1: 13psi (suggested for most stock applications). Map 2: 14.5psi (suggested for bolt on mods with 93 octane, close to JB3 map 7). Map 3: Progressive meth (see guide to enable). Map 4: Stock map w/ CAN active. Soon to be our economy map. Map 6: Custom map. Active but be careful with it. Map 7: 16.5psi. A light weight race map.

Map 2 you should have bolt on mods. Downpipes and FMIC. It'll run better
Map 1 is just basicaly making your stock car faster.

so is the 93 octane the built in default the car is expecting when running map 2, or can map 2 be run with 91 if you wanted?

I'm not sure on that since all I've ran is 93 in my car.

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=517645 i have just installed jb4 on a friends 335 convertible. and all i can say is wow. the car really pushes you hard in the seat. so far the car has only seen map1. it also has the afe dual cone intake with scoops. those are a must. i also have the afe dual cone with scoops on my alpina b3 biturbo, which also has the active autowerke catless downpipes. i will try map 2 and see what happens when i race the alpina the steering control is great. the valet mode is pretty rough though, i tried slamming the peddle and the gear snaps hard as it cuts off on 4500 rpm. either way, great upgrade for every 335 out there. soon to come for 335: active autowerke catless downpipes, active autowerke blow off valve. bms intercooler or active autowerke intercooler. Jack. |
