Anyone Running Wide 18s with Meaty Tyres?

I know theres probably a thread about this but I prefer seeing what people in the UK have done as their experience is more relevant, suppliers more readily available etc.

I'm considering running an 18x9.5 squared setup, but seeing as you need to stagger tyre sizes, it may be easier to run 18x9 F 18x10 R, or perhaps 18x9 squared with fat tyres and spacers on the rear.

Anyone doing the same? I'm not clued up on tyre sizes but I'm thinking 255+ on the rear and chunky sidewalls.

Some pics of what I mean:
(Trying not to post M3s as the bodywork is different)

Or I might just go for 17s...

Also, anyone know of any decent tyres with a square sidewall and good performance, that can be used in the wet as well? Preferably not too noisy either. Price is a bit of a factor also....

The majority of those tyres are high performance models which have much squarer fitment and sidewalls. You'll struggle to get the same look without running a semi slick/performance based tyre.

Apex Arc-8's is what I'm considering at some point. I've been thinking 8.5/9.5 though on 18's and then running 225 (or 235) fronts with 265 rears.

Same here although I think if I was to run those sizes I'd go for low offsets.

Was looking at et38 front and et35 rear to ensure no rubbing issues etc.

Hack Engineering is the place to get the Apex wheels.

Semi Slicks usually don't have the same wet weather performance as a more all round tyre, but I doubt it would be an issue as otherwise performance cars would be unusable in the wet.

Trouble is, they aren't cheap. Michelin Pilot Super Sport is the general sort of thing. The Hankooks pictured look like a good balance too. Look like Ventus R-S3.

You considered some 270m's? There et20 all round. Here's some on my e91

Or even 219m/260m, pretty similar looking wheels but there both 18's with lowish offsets..

+1. Wayne can we have more details of the wheels (e.g. diameter) and the tyre size? I presume they're not staggered? And is your set-up without spacers? Any rubbing issues or did you have you arches rolled?

FWIW
Im running R18 193 wheels with wider 235/40 and 265/35 tyres - obviously the tyres are now taller with the OEM sidewall ratios but they fill the wheels arches nicely IMO . No pics yet - anyone wanna see ?

running 18x9.5 +22 squared with 255/35r18 pilot super sports and they are a perfect fit! MPSS have awesome dry and wet performance along with a good tread wear rating.

sorry for the bad quality my phone kinda sucks but I raised it a bit from this height but there's room for me to go 265's all around which is probably what I'll be going for next
