5 years and counting....

This 2011 E90 328i is my seventh car in the last 20 years and it's also the car that I love the most. I have never owned a car more than 5 years except this one and I had GTI, Miata, MR2, Protege and SX4 etc...

I know there are faster cars out there for the money.. however, I really couldn't find any new car that meets my requirements. I enjoy the feeling of hydraulic steering, shifting my own gears, the throttle response and the linearity of a NA inline six non-direct injection motor, handling of a RWD, and convenience of a 4-door. Hence I don't mind spending hard earned money on this car.

This is a car that I did most work myself, maintenance, suspension, brakes, electronics and cosmetic etc... this is also the first car that I took to different tracks.. this car has also been through many ups and downs with me in my life...

5 years and counting.. and many more to come!

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the pics

Amen! Car looks great, next up M-Sport rear

Everytime I think about replacing the 328i with something, I find myself totally stumped with where to go from here when the day comes to move on. No sedan out out there checks literally every single box:
-reliable
-fuel effecient
-a blast to drive and toss around
-naturally aspirated
-RWD
-practical
-easy to repair/modify

The only replacement I can think of is an E90 M3 but I already have the coupe, and it sure as hell isn't fuel efficient in any sense... lol.

Yup, unfortunately no manufacturers build these type of cars anymore....

You've got best of both world.. I thought about getting an E90 M3, but was concerned about rod bearings.. probably over blown

Great looking car, Nafy! I appreciate your taste in quality mods.

Do you mind if I ask what the importance of upgrading to the M3 front control arms is?

I felt the difference. I think I can place the car more accurately in corners than before.

Thanks Portmoody. Your car is fantastic too with all the right parts.

6ixspd, I actually haven’t had time to install it. Still rocking my custom steering wheel. Will post pics when its done.

Thanks Mike

Why not an E90 335i? Did you feel the reliability of turbos was the main issue? I had an E36 328i Sport before my current E90 335i and contemplated another 328i. I just felt there was a little more power and fun to be had with the N54.

6ixSpd, added the Z4M steering picture.

Thank you guys for all your kind words.

I am planning to add parts review and possibly DIY guides in this thread in the future.

Looks great!

Is the OEM sport airbag a direct replacement with the Z4 steering wheel or do you need the wheel & airbag?
