I guess that if I add up all the repairs and loaner, it is easily over $15K.

I paid a little more than $2K for the extended warranty.
which dealership did you buy the ext warranty from ?

and all those who don't wanna buy it, wait till bimmer nips you in the butt, I've learnt my lesson and am not gonna go without one, so don't advise

As a current owner of 6 years and 80k I highly suggest you get it, if youre not inclined to finding and indie or doing it yourself.

Current replacements so far, 6 injectors, new UREA tank, lots of senors AKA, nox for which needs to be replaced AGAIN and carbon cleaning. First at 50k and now 80k while i drop it off to have my A/C compressor check. This car is pretty well maintained so your fate is up to the assembly gods lol.

Anyways I dont know if Jeff@Passport BMW still works there but thats who i got my warranty from years back. He did it all online for me and I live in florida, and im sure after all the stuff thats been replaced normal cost even with indie ranges from like 5-7k+ so I got my moneys worth from the warranty.

I got it from Daniel Dutton at Pacific BMW. If I remember correctly, someone told me that he is not working at the dealer anymore.

Try Patrick BMW in Schaumburg for a 5 minute phone quote. They have Zurich backed policies available. (I asked for the finance dep't directly)

I would think anyone would wheel and deal on this since they are just pocketing a markup. Call a handful (Motorwerks, Fields) and pit them against each other.

Just wait till you pass 50k.
Following the manufacturers recommended services, why keep a car that's going to cost a ton in repairs?

I'm just trying to add a little balance that the sky isn't falling on these cars. There are lots of folks who report troublefree ownership well beyond 100K miles. You just hear mostly about the vocal ones who have lots of problems.

I can already tell you my 335d has been very troublesome, it was a manufacturers buy back. But I'm not doing an extended warranty as the emissions components fail, I plan to just remove them. I will do a full ABC delete. Seems most folks who do the delete report few if any problems. Outside of the emissions system, I don't see these cars breaking very often.

I got a quote from Jeff at passport, do it before the warranty runs out or you can on,y purchase a powertrain warranty.

Do you really think anyone here ignores the maintenance?

BTW, mine is at the dealer since yesterday. Coolant leak. Steam started to come out of the engine bay as I was heading to the freeway. I am happy it did not happen on the freeway as the chances of not realizing there is a problem with the car were low.

Coolant splashed all over the engine. I have no idea what it is.

Oh, yeah, and I had the pump replaced, new coolant, new belts. Maybe I don't maintain mine all that well.

Anyway I am really ready to get rid of it now, after I repair it. No more Bavarian POS.

And it's not just the 335d with a ton of problems. All BMW's have problems. 5s, 7s, etc. Once you pass the 50k mile mark they all go bad.
