New Bremmen Android Multimedia System For E9X
I'm surprised no one's mentioned or asked about this thing yet: https://www.ecstuning.com/News/BMW_E...adunits_28076/
This is probably the first aftermarket HU I've actually been interested in. The only turn off for me is the lack of a volume knob but overall it looks pretty slick. |

Extremely interested as just updating the OEM GPS is a couple hundred dollars for new maps alone.
How would this affect a Logic 7 equipped car? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bremmen-...cc/ub8512~brp/ Last edited by type-dRew; 04-03-2019 at 09:39 AM.. |

I dropped a question into both the ECS and Turner sites, hopefully they will update to clarify.
Some of their other units are 8.x so hopefully it's a mistake.

Just had this installed in my 2010 335i ... I'm not an Android user so still struggling to figure it out. Emailed ECS for a user manual, couldn't find anything online. Have any of you installed?

Original install shop that was doing all the FBO work came up with this solution when I asked for CarPlay compatibility. We only had the car back from that shop for a few hours before taking it to the dyno and so far have no idea how to make it work. Unfortunately it did not come with a manual. Waze abruptly quick 3 times on the way to dyno toom With any luck I'll have the car back before Christmas and will report back. Last edited by E90CLT; 07-22-2019 at 03:29 PM.. |

Android Multimedia Headunit System (Bremmen UB8512)
I contacted ECS as well, they verified it runs 3.0 for the Bremmen UB8512. Was checking for my 2008 e93 m3 with CCC.

A friend just installed an XTRONS Android unit, he is strongly suggesting it to me. I like the bigger touch screen. Thinking to get one like that. https://xtrons.co.uk/bmw-3-series-an...8-0-pe9890bipl

1) the models with physical buttons look more OEM, plus I'm a fan of having a volume knob to make it easy to quickly adjust volume without needing to take focus away from the road. Xtrons also has a unit with the same layout. 2) it seems like the eonon unit had more reviews, and also more aftermarket developer support for custom roms and mcu updates. I've had my eonon for 2 months now and have been very happy with it.

Sorry to necro thread barely any info online on this unit. Any word from ecs? I've been trying to contact them for days with no luck. No info how to update firmware or anything. |
