Most people with catless headers are getting only 1 cel not ready. In my state 1 not ready out of 8 is a passed. I don't think you can do much about that cel not ready as the primary cats are not there anymore There was another thread about a fix where there was some talk about this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1389966 |

if it is the same in new york , you could just used a OBd reader that has emissions included and see how many no ready parameters you have ready and no ready. Last month I checked only 1 showed as no ready , hoping that is the case in the next 5 months before I go do my test I get all ready ( except for cat) even in the mornings when I first start the car, so I m not sure about this driving cycle. I remember reading about this driving cycle back in the days when they actually hooked up to the tail pipe. Good luck |

You basically have 2 options: o2 spacers or emulators. I went with the latter but basically require you to install an electronic device in line between your rear o2 sensor and harness or at the ecu. If you go this route you'll actually want to ask AA to have your o2's turned back on to normal (but still keep the performance settings) since the emulator needs a raw signal from a working o2 sensor. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1394920 Though I guess I should ask what are the 3 incompletes you're getting? Oxygen, catalyst and evap? Last edited by 3002 tii; 09-16-2017 at 06:09 PM.. |

If you can eventually get evap and o2 and you're just left with catalyst, that should be enough to pass. Many states allow up to 1 monitor to be incomplete or NA. And if you're stuck with 2 or more then I would look into the simulator. I've had all monitors complete with it.

I just want to point out - disconnecting the battery on an N52 does NOT reset any monitors. They are stored in non-volatile memory, they don't require power.

Same thing applies to them. Its all stored in non-volatile memory.
Maybe back in the days of Motronic 1.X that it was true - but not on thes cars. In fact, when I sold the E91 it had to pass emissions (normally we dont test here, but it was going down to Seattle). I had just reset adaptations not knowing I'd have to pass ahead of time, and only 6/8 monitors had set. Rather than chance it, I bench flashed the car with a file I knew already had all of the monitors set. All 8 monitors were set and it passed with flying colors.. |
