My best mod ever! Thanks for your help on that question I had.

I drove it for less than 5 mins to get to this location so it wasn't exactly a cold start.

Yes, the cabin sound is great. See short review on OP for more info.

The sound right after the install is already great but it gets even better the more you use the car.

I installed the intake myself. Nothing difficult. Took me about 1.5 hours because I spent some time taking pictures with a DIY in mind.

I'll post some intake pics later tonight.

Nicely done allan
These two mods have been the most satisfying mods so far. The performance gain, plus the incredible sound makes me smile every drive. Thanks for the great write-up

I am getting this over the RR catback exhaust because of the oem quality. The Y-pipe of the RR exhaust looks very terrible, granted the price is cheaper.

Just checking in as I haven't posted in a little while due to the holidays.

I'm getting a new HD camcorder and decent external mic so I plan on making another video clip or two in the next two weeks.

So I've driven more than 1K miles since I had the exhaust and intake and I finally found something I don't like about it. In M mode @ 6th gear and 2.7K rpm, the exhaust at times have this very low sound that's a little bit uncomfortable. At 5th gear and 3.1K rpm the sound is so much better. Anyways, my wife don't even notice it unless I mention it so I guess it's not that bad.

Another new thing I noticed and liked a lot, though some people may not like it, is that the exhaust when fully warmed up (say 30mins of driving) sounds quite loud at 2nd gear or stop and go traffic.

allan, do you have any pictures of your intake yet?
Perhaps It's in another thread?
nevets1 mentioned something about the intake taking cold air from near the windshield and i can't find a pic of that specific area anywhere... would be nice to see what it looks like..
Thx!

I don't have a lot of intake pics since nevets1 and pcarela already posted a few nice shots of it. I think I know what nevets1 was referring to re: the windshield piece. Refer to Fig 14 of my DIY (link below). It's the air guide that's hooked into the intake housing.

Smashing! thank's guys!
I used to be an owner of a 2008 E90 335i that suffered from the dreadful turbolag, so when BMW bought back my car because of this i made sure to get the strongest NA model availible - the 330i coupe.

Now, i want to do whatever i can to get the sharpest throttle respons possible, wich performance part will give me that, the intake or the exhaust?

ps. fantastic DIY allan!

In terms of which mod has the greatest effect on throttle response, I can't actually say. I happened to do the intake first...definitely helped throttle response. About two weeks later I did the exhaust...even better, really feeling it now. So, to answer your question, they are designed to work together for maximum effect. Your simply allowing the best flow (less restriction) with both systems. Now I'm waiting on that Dinan software
