Short shifter for the 335xi the same as 335i?

I cant find this info anywhere. Even called a dealer and got a "uhh we dont know" responce.

The bmw ssk is the same for the 335i as it is for the 335xi. However its not even listed for the 335xi. I had it installed in 15-20 mins. But I removed it because it sucks LOL. I did install the UUC ssk which is 1000x better than the bmw ssk. It costs more but well worth it. Its called UUC motorworks. Try them out, they might be having a labor day sale.

UUC's SSK is "i" and "xi" specific if you

....there is a slight difference in design i think. Something about the "i" ssk doesn't quite work in "xi".

UUC has a ssk that was made for the the xi. Problem is that you have to drop the transfer case in order to install it. Otherwise it works perfectly. Ive had mine for 14 months with 12k miles on it and no problems what so ever. It is a great mod that i would recomend. If you search you will see a few other members had it installed.

Whoa, looks like i have to get someone to install it if i did that. How much labor was involved in dropping it? The UUC defiantly seems like the way to go.

I had someone at the BMW dealership do it for me. I kind of became friendly with some of the mechanics and one of them did it for me. It was 3 hours of labor and he charged me $225.00.

Drop the transfer case? That makes me sad... Oh well, not getting the 335xi until '10.
