MTECH CF Boot Spoiler Install Question
I am about to install my mtech cf boot spoiler and I have a question regarding the install. I have the factory supplied Betalink glue and I want to know if I apply it COMPLETELY around the entire perimeter of the spoiler or just one the folded tabs on the ends?
Looking at my posted pictures you can see how near each end there is a distinct flat area, were as the rest of the perimeter has a thin lip that would touch the paint. I don't want to go nuts gluing everything as I probably won't ever be able to remove it, but I don't want to only glue the flat area as I would suspect it would eventually destroy my paint as dirt and other stuff would get under it. I want to be able to remove it down the road without destroying the wing and my trunk. Any advice is appreciated as I am doing this TONIGHT!! Last edited by Volasko; 04-17-2013 at 10:50 PM.. |

Use 3m auto adhesive tape not the betalink. It holds well and is removeable! You can then run a strip near the front to seal that as well as back side.

I used Betalink on my CF spoiler, and there's no way I can remove it without destroy it.
So if you want to remove it, use some 3M tape.

I have been told that the trick to removing it is heat and patience. But a part of me is hesitant to take a heat gun to my trunk lid. I guess for now it isn't coming off because I have committed to the install with a perimeter seal leaving two spots for what look like a water drain (lefthand side of the bottom edge on the bottom picture). It looks damn nice with the BSM!
