Just wanted to update you OP. I changed out the motor mounts and the vibrations went away. So I would say you have the same problem as me. Good luck!

Did you ever figure out what it was? I've went through damn near the same checklist as you with same issue. Center support bearing and guibo getting changed soon.

For the people saying engine mounts were the cause of the vibration, were you feeling these vibrations only at highway speeds? I have similar symptoms, vibration felt from about 50-80MPH, under or over it's fine, and zero vibrations when braking. When cruising at 75 for example I can feel it, and if I push the clutch in and let the engine drop to idle, I can still feel the same frequency of vibration so it's not engine related, but I suspect drivetrain (giubo or center bearing), tires, or suspension. I plan to swap wheels/tires with my 325i which are brand new and don't vibrate at all on that car.
I had vibrations on my 325 that were noticeable when braking and they were solved with new thrust arms and new tie rods. After that, I still had a horrible vibration at idle which turned out to be a collapsed engine mount. I didn't have any vibrations at speed with the bad engine mounts however. |
