Vibration when turning at low speed?

I have noticed a vibration when turning the wheel at low speeds, such as when parking, pulling out of a space or driveway. Once Im going even just a few mph, it stops. Never happens while driving, only when in parking situations.

Anyone else have this? Could it be related to the M3 tension rods I had recently installed?

Any ideas? Its noticeable to the passenger as well.

does it happen only when the wheel is turned? Or does it do it if the wheel is straight as well?

I have the same issue with my 08 328i. took it to the dealer and the moron said the fluid level was ok and didn't see anything wrong. now it seems to be getting worse and worse. I will be taking it back over there next week and talk to the manager and the mechanic.

Only while the steering wheel is being turned. If I stop turning, the vibration stops as well.

Keep me posted, I think I need to take it in as well. I only have about 8000 miles left on my warranty.

I'll let you know. A good mechanic should be able to identify the problem right off the bat and will not settle with just checking the fluid level. either way, it is going to get fixed damn it. lol

I have this problem with my car too and had it since the beginning. I wonder what is wrong. Please update after you find the problem!

I think Ive always had it too, but it became really noticeable after the tension rod install. Those things really provide a ton more feedback than the normal ones.

more like a squeeking sound. almost like a Ford power steering issue with the sound. I know it is suppose to vibrate when you turn the steering wheel all the way when you have your foot on the breaks but not when the car is moving.

mines doesnt have any sound other than the normal vibration noise which is like shivers(not loud). It happens when turn the steering wheel at very very low speeds.

I have exactly the same problem. First I thought it was the winter tires causing it but then I swapped to summers it still continues. I'm thinking it might be caused by bent rims, I have all 4 bent rims so.. I'm at the tire shop right now ill ask the guys here about the issue

I reallly doubt bent rims cause this vibration. I think its got to do with the power steering or some other suspension parts. Im starting to think it is normal...

power steering yes but definitely not normal. if it was normal, I would have never bought the car.

I am thinking they are going to go cheap and drain my power steering fluid and replace it first. might be a bubble in the fluid or something. just my guess.

shivers is correct. noise is not overly loud but enough that you can hear it. I'll find out tomorrow and let you guys know.

makes me wonder how many other bmw owners are experiencing this and just choose to ignore it. my 04 330ci did not have this problem. only problem I had with my 330ci was the charcoal canister in the back. strong gas fumes in the garage and now, my 335i is doing the same thing. might have to get that replaced as well.

If there are any others having this issue with the low speed vibration or shaking from the steering wheel, please follow this thread. I am going to need more ammo for my argument in case the dealer doesn't do anything about it. this problem is gonna get solved even if I have to take it all the way to the corporate office.
