E90 seized caliper bleed nipple

Hi

I’ve just had a brake fluid service done on my E90 330 at a main dealer. They told me the bleed nipple is seized on the rear OS caliper and that the caliper needs replacing and provided a quote for this.

My question is, is replacing the caliper the only solution or could the nipple somehow be freed hopefully at a cheaper cost than replacing the caliper?

Thanks in advance

U can try using a nut heater to heat it up see if it brakes loose.careful using a torch as it might mess up the seals for the caliper itself

My bro had an old pug 205 years ago where the bleed nipples were seized on all 4 calipers, it was a pita car.
Tried everything, lots of penetrating fluid...no chance...drilling the nipples out...left a mess, reverse tap...nope, gentle heat but as mentioned above couldn't get too hot for fear of knackering the seals. Then I had an idea and took them to this very old guy I knew who had a small engineering company specialising in welding. I cracked my alloy valve cover once on my Mazda 323GT when I was a student...no torque wrench back then and over zealous tightening! Anyway he proceeded to weld blobs of ally into the seized nipple until there was enough protruding to then weld a huge Tbar on...with so much more leverage the nipples popped loose. We saved 2 calipers but ruined 2 before hand. He sold his business and retired long ago but he was the dogs ;-)
