Smile 2010 3M CF Fabric Mirror Wrap - first mod complete!

Big thanks to Dan at Thornhill Tints.

Picked up my '10 e92 earlier this month and realized BMW had changed the mirror design to the 'dumbo' design and the aftermarket CF covers couldn't be used with the new style mirror.

While I was getting the car tinted, I asked Dan if he could wrap the mirror covers - much cheaper than an M3 mirror swap!

Pictures below.. no issues with the wrap so far. Pretty sure this is the new 3M Di-Noc film.

Stock cover left, Wrapped CF right

CF Wrapped around the edges

Installed on my dirty car

Installed.. different angle

Thanks. 3M claims a 4 year life but I don't expect it to last that long in the climate here. By then, the vendors should come out with an '10+ MY mirror cover.

I am okay with the look, for some reason gloss CF looks better there IMO.

Please do report back how well it holds against weather and car wash... etc....

I really like it, but how do you think it'll hold up to the weather? There will be bugs and dirt hitting it. Will one be able to wash it normally with soap and water?

Sorry I think a shiny gloss CF would look better than the dull finish....Not liking the mod...Doesn't look good at all, just being real brother....but if you like it thats all that matters.

Took it to the power wash the other night and wanted to get all the grime and salt off the car - mirror wrap is still in tact with no sign of peeling.

Regarding the matte comments, until the vendors come out with a CF version for MY 10+ mirrors, the matte will stay. The mirros changed from 07/08/09 to the 2010 year hence no mirror cover.

I think shiny gloss would look better there on the mirrors... not bad... just not my cup of tea.
