Hi All

Now that my original April trip is cancelled, I am rearranging that trip to the middle of May, from Thursday 14th to Tuesday 19th.

Any forum members, and friends, are welcome to join up and come along. I know there is already interest from Floyd (SoYank), Steve (BmwBailey), Carlos (DXB). Other members have also mentioned that they want to come along. The weather then should be excellent, and because it isn't a bank holiday in the UK or in Germany, the 'Ring should be considerably quieter than when the EvoT guys are going (first bank holiday weekend in May) and so we should have much more track time available.

My intention is to go from Thursday to Tuesday, as I want to spend a fair amount of time on track. However, if those who are coming can only travel on the Friday, I don't mind waiting till Friday morning to travel over. Obviously people can spend as much or as little time at the 'Ring as they like - there's a lot of places that you can go if you don't want to spend the whole weekend at the track... Bonn and Koln are each only half an hour away for instance.

The hotel where I'm going to be staying is the Mercure Koblenz Conference Hotel. It is exceptionally comfortable, with a good underground carpark, great breakfast in the mornings, and also is only a 20 minute drive to the 'Ring along the autobahn and some great country roads...

Ive now checked my diary and i am definitely up for this trip - didnt think i could make it as im going to the Monaco GP this year and thought the dates crossed but its actually the following weekend - yippee!! Is anyone thinking of taking their partners or is it going to be a lads trip?? I dont mind either way. Paulie, will Vanessa come on this trip if you come?? Also, i keep hearing great things about the hotel that Sabine Smitz family own or run that is right next to the ring - anyone know what its called?? I'd personally love to stay there if they have free rooms on these dates. I will probably think about driving over Friday and back either Sunday evening or Monday morning.

A lot depends on the time of the crossing and also how I schedule my time off. I won't know until Monday at the soonest.

The only hotel I'm going to get involved in organising is the Mercure... Personally, my brother and I are only going to stay there as we both know the staff there well, the rooms are comfortable, and most importantly the cars are safe and out of the way. No chance of getting stupid parking dents or scratches etc... Room from Friday night onwards is an average of 82 Euros per night... If some people want to stay elsewhere, no problem with me, but you'll be organising yourselves!

Guess it would be better if we all stay at same place - i was just interested in Sabines hotel as its practically ON the circuit and ive heard very good things about it - but im happy to stay where the majority stay.
