Pure sex. I'd give anything for that M3...

I’m gonna say these two wagons are worthy of wearing the M badge.....do you agree?

Also, I'm very very curious 63NP as to what is the process involved in making one of these, my guess is that you pick the saloon M3 and modify the body? or do you grab a 340i F31 and turn it into an M3 mechanically-wise?
The F11 was based on a F11 550i and the F81 was based on a 320d :-) Both then received the respective mechanicals required for the conversions.

There are plenty around. They do a vehicle check and proclaim is it only a 320d even after seeing the work that has gone into it. Don't think the owner cares much though

Ah! Makes sense the E63.... coincidental. Nice FU though

The M3 F81 is a masterpiece. I love every detail about. Only the steering wheel is on the wrong side for me

I just cannot understand why BMW does not offer the M Tourings. Not everyone wants to drive a SUV. The M3 or M5 are much sportier than any M X platform. I think that there is a market for such cars and C63 and RS4 avant are a proof for it. Neither Audi nor Merc would produce niche cars if they could not sell them. But the HQ in Munich is so stubborn. I think that even in North America they could sell M Tourings. Where there is a will, there is way. But without producing these cars and just saying that there is no market, is just BS.

Meanwhile, Mercedes actually builds this kind of thing (E Class, anyway), and sells every one of them.

BMW has gone after every market niche possible, why not this one?

Don't even need a M. Just give me a RWD 330iT and I'm over the moon. Damn you, BMW, damn you!! Please at least give us Americans the next 3er GT in a RWD config...at the very least. I rented a 2015 328i recently while on vacation and we had a lot of trouble squeezing a large suitcase and a relatively compact baby stroller in the trunk. A hatchback G20 of any type would be perfect...in RWD, please!

I’m pretty sure BMW can work something out with those so enamored with stationwagon M cars or just build your own if you’re so passionate about it like these 2 folks. I don’t think it’s ugly but it’s not for me. It wasn’t conceived by BMW so it’s not official.

Would it be easier to just take a complete M3 and then do the rear body work and graft on the wagon rear body? Then transplant the interior pieces as needed. Maybe structurally not possible.

I think that it would be very problematic due to body stiffness etc. Although it seems easier to change the body I think it would much more expensive to turn sedan body into touring than to dismantle M3 body and install everything in a touring body.
