F1 2019: Austrian GP - Spielberg (June 30)

without a break its time for Red Bull's home race.. last year there was a double DNF for Merc's.. probably this year we ll see a ceremony for Niki Lauda.. he was ok last year at this track.. and Red Bull can be strong here again.. Vettel desperately needs some good results.. can be watched on Youtube..

Verstappen crashes.. Bottas as well.. Vettel almost crashes at FP2 at the same place with Max.. Hamilton was sliding only on the last corner.. it was a weird practice session ended 1-2 hours ago..

Merc and Red Bull guys will work hard this evening to fix the cars.. damage is not small..

Has anyone determined the "mechanical" failure that prevented VET from Qualy 3??
Was it damage from running over the curbs??
Was it Ferrari's plan to keep VET's car in the pits??
Because LEC is simply crushing his team mate??
And VET and Ferrari can't allow that level of dominance by LEC??

A little conspiracy theory for those that think beyond press releases....

VET had an issue on the air pressure line to the car’s engine => https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...cK3ecssjy.html

When Lauda pulled in the pits at the Japanese GP in 1976 in a blinding rain storm and said he would not continue in such unsafe conditions....and this race determined if Lauda or Hunt was the F1 World Champion....Ferrari told Lauda that they would simply state there was a mechanical condition with the engine that prevented Lauda from continuing....Lauda told the Ferrari Team Manager that he would not accept this explanation and told the truth to the press.

Just sayin'....it's not always the press releases that determine the true end result.

Yeah . I'ts typical Italian . Ferrari is like *Mamma Mia*

*Mamma Mia* literally means “mom mine/my” and it is an Italian expression that can convey many different emotions: surprise, fear, pain, joy, exasperation, etc. Italians say it at least once every day.

i believe HAM got this penalty to ease of the pressure of Canada GP decision a bit.. they didnt rush to make a decision, it didnt affect Kimi's qualy result but rules are rules in the end.. i hope there wont be a crash included HAM in first 1-2 laps..

hehe i hear you and yes Ferrari can do such things.. Vettel was looking weird while getting out of the car.. though if Vettel wouldnt take the pole in Canada probably this d be the last time Ferrari used its patience.. Vettel seems distracted yet again..

Well, at least it won't likely include RAI that was the car involved in the HAM decision, as RAI is further back in the grid order....hopeful LEC gets a rocket-launch and leads into 1 and HAM gets a rocket launch and is under LEC's wing at the end of 1.

I've said it before and pay attention all you Max haters:

What an unbelievable race, and I'm still saying LeClerc is overrated. He just got blown off the track by a guy from far down the grid with inferior hardware. If Max doesn't have the horrible start, he wins by 10+ seconds easily.

Max is an unbelievable driver. He deserves the second seat at Mercedes or LeClerc's seat next year. Screw the contracts, make it happen. Max is the man.

FINALLY A GREAT F1 RACE!!!

Finally some decent racing. Great to see two completely different style of F1 next generation going wheel to wheel. (which BTW, that was nothing but pure racing, tell the stewards to go F off!)

I'd like to see LeClerc to take a win, but with much fresher tyres. The overtake is inevitable. I must say, I'd thought the race was over from the beginning for Max, but what a great come back!

I wouldn't say LeClerc is "overrated", is one of those less "exuberant" drivers. A complete style compare to Max. We will see how they evolve throughout their careers!

Yeah . But actually he deserves Vet's seat ...
Something was wrong with his car , and his horrible start was caused by ...*kicked into anti-stall*

Imagine if there was a wall there. Result would of been much different.

Always leave a cars width. First thing they taught us in race school.

Yup ! What we saw today was a great job from HONDA . Looks very promising for the next races of the season .
*Toyoharu Tanabe* said they are working on the Honda spec 4-motor ,with more power but it's still in test-fase .
So. The suspense is on....

what a great race for Red Bull's and Max..
Max deserved to win after overtaking almost all top places.. for me he shouldnt take any penalty at all.. Leclerc was closing the door with the same style on the 3rd corner as well which was natural..

Merc's was falling off to pieces really and im not sure changing the wing was a right move also.. Merc was sweating on the track it was visible really..

Nope, he just got beaten by someone with much better tyres.

I still rate Leclerc as good as LH and Max. Add to that list Lando and Albon.

I was really hoping Leclerc could get his first win, but his tyres let him down, sadly.

Very happy for Verstappen though, especially since he won it at RB's home track.
