Which town?

Nevermind, did a little search and saw you're in Troy/Royal Oak

Arrow Introduction

Hi guys,

There's no separate forum for intros, so I thought I'd do it in here.

My names Mark, 20 years old, and I live in Warren.

I currently do not own a bimmer myself, but my dad owns a 01 e46 323. We bought this car broken, fixed it, and now I'm looking for a bimmer for myself.

I'm in the market for a 07-10 335i, preferably with xDrive for the snow. Also preferably a sedan with the 6MT. I know a 335xi E90 6MT combo is pretty hard to find, but I'm willing to wait for the car that I want.

Currently, I drive a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged. Bolted and tuned, and still slow. I knew I had to get out of the Cobalt, because the money I was spending on it could be going into a much nicer car. It's currently for sale, so if you know anybody that wants one, contact me.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing you guys IRL and around the forums. I'll be lurking the marketplace for cars, in the mean time!

Mark

6MT 335i e90's in general are challenging to find with the sport package, not to mention wanting AWD ("xi"). If you are willing to go out of state to get one you will have a much easier time. I looked for months to find a lower mileage virgin e90 6MT with ZSP that wasn't priced $5k over KBB/Edmunds. Definitely make sure you get one with the sport package, the seats alone are worth the wait and hassle.

You can find them, they are out there. Best of luck and be sure to post a pic when you get it.

The Sport package includes different wheels, seats, steering wheel, and suspension (not on xi), correct? I'm still really new to the bimmer world and trying to remember and what out what each package is and includes lol. So sport package is a must.. Got it. Can I just run the VIN to find out?

I know how it is to wait for the right car, lol. Maddening definitely.

I've also considered e90 335i without xDrive and read countless threads on here about it in the snow and I'm still not sure about it.

Welcome.

You are correct on the sport package, and definitely worth it. Takes forever though (3 years for me!).

You can run the VIN here: http://bmwvin.com/

I went from a 328 xDrive to a 335i RWD last fall, put snow tires on for the winter just to be safe and didn't have any problem at all. There are a ton of articles about how snow tires are better than all seasons on AWD, but if you plan to put snow tires on your xDrive then I have no complaint against preferring AWD (other than the added complexity and weight). http://www.caranddriver.com/columns/...ur-wheel-drive

Thanks for the site! It's awesome. I ran a few VINs I was looking at, and one came up with the sport package. Hopefully it stays available long enough for me. It is a e90 6MT, but RWD.

I was probably going to keep all seasons on the xDrive, probably. I definitely would've considered a dedicated Winter set, money permitting, for the ultimate snow blazer.

Do you DD your 335i in the snow? I've never driven anything really RWD in the snow. I've driven trucks on all seasons, but I've had 4x4 to lean on.

Get snows for an xdrive or rwd. You won't regret it.

I even run snows on our range rover sport. Snows make a night and day difference on any vehicle.

Hell yea broski

I ran a dedicated winter setup with blizzaks on my e92 335i for the past three winters and will continue to do the same on my e90 335i moving forward. I only got somewhat stuck one time in my brother's neighborhood due to an excessive amount of slush under a foot of snow. Even in horrid conditions, the BMW traction control and technology is superb. I recall one time cruising along in basically a whiteout with a solid amount of snow already on the ground and the only other vehicles on the road were plows, soccer moms in Tahoes/X5s/Rovers/Q7s, and me

+1. If I had an AWD I'd still rock snows. Dedicated performance tires are too beneficial to not have.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I won't rule out an "I" then provided I do get a dedicated set of snows.
