E90 330D M Sport - Rear Shocks

Hi all,

Any idea where I can get a complete rear shocks kit?

The sachs shocks are part number 311 411 but I can't find a complete kit with bump stops and rubber mounts. Eurocarparts have the shocks on their own for £123.46 with the discount but no dust kit or rubber mounts.

I got my Bilstein (better quality and cheaper than Sachs)shocks and bump stops from Amazon UK. Didn't need to change top mounts, but could have got them from Amazon too. The parts were cheaper on Amazon than most other parts places I tried, except maybe Autodoc.

Not seen complete kits before, myself. Realoem the part numbers and order what you need/want.

All you need is shocks, bottom mounts, top mounts, bump stops, dust cover/boot...that's all that's attached to the shocks.

Folks in the US keep going on about a certain Monroe top mount kit that's a huge 'upgrade' but cheap as chips...maybe look that up while you're on the job

I did my rear shocks a few months ago and trying to find the correct part numbers was a right ball ache! I got all my parts from autodoc.

I can't believe you got your parts within 4 days, autodoc tend to repeat the same excuses, like you place an order thats in stock and they will continue to say everything is fine but then there's an issue with the supplier (this is because autodoc are just a middleman) then you can be waiting for a while for them to come from the suppliers and to make everything 10 times worse I've heard of people getting different parts that aren't compatible. I was going to order some Eibach Pro springs from them and word for word I got the same scenario as I seen online after placing the order so I was very surprised yours went so smooth.

If I get some Bilstein B4 shock absorbers with Monroe dust covers, Bilstein top mount and lemforder bottom rubber mount it's around £167 from auto doc.. Its just whether I take the risk on them again lol.

REAR BILSTEIN B4 - GAS SHOCK ABSORBER - Article Number 19-135052 (£52.14 Each)

Lemforder Top Strut Mounting for lower rear axle - Article Number 35398-01 (£11.97 Each)

Monroe Dust Cover Kit, Shock Absorber - Article Number PK167 (£11.66)

Bilstein Top Strut Mounting - Article Number 12-248650 (£13.39 Each)

Autodoc take the piss with delivery, charge you north of £9 for it to come after 2 weeks. I know a guy who received the wrong part in which the box was already ripped. He returned it back and autodoc deducted a percentage off the refund due to the box being damaged! Absolute joke, the only good thing is the parts tend to be cheaper then ECP

That's what I'm thinking mate.. I cancelled the Eibach Pro spring order after around a week then ordered some off eBay from a seller in Poland but I remembered a weight being lifted and I thought, yes it may take a week to delivery but I know 100% these springs will be at my door by x date, with autodoc it was more like.. In x amount of days I will contact them again and hope I don't get another excuse and end up waiting in excess of a month.. I said to myself I wouldnt order again but the chap above got his in 4 days.. I don't know, maybe I'll total up on eBay or something and just see if I can bridge the price difference if its not too much

Exactly mate, unless the savings are substantial, i'd order elsewhere. Also with the covid situation, postage is likely to be delayed further, especially from another country.

Wow. After reading the above comments, looks like I may have been extremely lucky with my autodoc order!

Likewise. I've never had any issues in about 5 orders. They're not speedy, but all arrived in something like a week. I do dislike their customer service though, in the dealings I've had with them. And their constantly fluctuating prices (discount and base price) with timed deadlines every day are a scam!

Hmm, I'm really on the fence about it. I'm wondering whether to just chance it and worst case scenario I'll just have to wait a bit longer to get the refund then order from somewhere else, I mean.. That's assuming they mess about again. If I buy from them I shall keep everyone updated on here with chats I have with them like I did last time haha

I used them for the first time recently. 6 rear control arms, drop links and a couple of bushings. The parts are fine and came within a week so no complaints from me.

Is that in coronavirus times? They said on a chat there could be a delay of 1 - 2 days which is absolutely fine with me

When i used Autodoc, i got my parts in about 5 days. Used them for my Eibach Pro's. Had no problem with them at all.

Just thought I would update on the Autodoc scenario.

I placed the order on 23rd April at 22:27

On the 24th the status changed to something about my items being transferred from suppliers, I'd imagine my parts where coming from different suppliers to the Autodoc warehouse

On the same night it changed to non working day

26th Order Picking Complete

From thereon i had to wait for the order to be shipped to somewhere else in Germany which was another day or so which then came across to the UK.

From there I could then use the supplied parcel force tracking number.

Just thought I'd try add a few details on from what I could remember incase others are concerned when they order.

No mate, top and bottom mounts where 2x it was only the dust cover and bump stops that came as a pair

How you finding the B4s bud? Did you order the "sports suspension" version? I've ordered a set for the rears.

Yes mate I ordered these

https://www.bilstein-shocks.co.uk/products/19-135052

And all I can say is it feels amazing, it's not quite a fair comparison as my shock absorbers where fully blown passenger side and pretty much gone on the drivers side so I'd be comparing against failed shocks but with these shocks the rear end feels like a solid piece of rubber, before I would hit pot holes and squinch my eyes but the shocks have removed the "crashiness" feeling and as expected it grips the road really well, before I would go around a certain corner and when I hit bumps I would feel the car slightly skip and TC kick in a few times but now I get nothing
