Update: I had a bad valve cover which had no vacuum as it was cracked. On top of that my intake manifold gaskets were nonexistent. So I went and bought a valve cover with a full seal kit from FCP. Ddid my oil filter housing seal while I was at it and cleaned any residues on my engine. Result? 2 days lf cursing at my car and now a 328i without leaks or burning smoke.

That's excellent news. Surprised it was that bad and smoking because of it. Matter of fact I wouldn't think It'd even run right in that condition..

Exactly my thoughts! Turns out the last guy that had it, reused the cracked valve cover and just epoxy sealed it which obviously eventually would fail. Plus he didn't know that once you remove the intake manifold you MUST replace your gaskets as they are one time use only. Once you put the two together, it adds up to a pain in the neck.
